The following are Some Facts to Start off with:

-Recent trends show that cigarette usage could cause over 8 million deaths annually by 2030
-Within U.S., cigarette smoking is liable for around one in five deaths annually, or around 438,000 deaths annually

There is no doubt smoking is a killer. On average, smokers die 13-14 years younger than nonsmokers! That translates to 12 to 14 minutes being stripped from your life with every cigarette! Each and every one of those cigarettes you smoke is bringing you closer and closer to an early death.
A Few More Reasons to Quit Smoking for Good:
-A correlation was found linking smoking and brain damage/premature senility
-Food does not taste as good to smokers. When a smoker's nasal passage is under the effects of the myriad of chemical compounds found within cigarettes their ability to enjoy various tastes and aromas is reduced.
-Smokers find they are sick more frequently than non-smokers. a smoker is absent 7 1/2 work days a year compared to 4 1/2 for the non-smoker
-If you smoke, your body will require more rest than a non-smoker. Also, smokers don't sleep as good as non-smokers
-Smoking makes you slightly irritable and argumentative, in part due to subconscious understanding of the above points
This is just a sampling. There are plenty more reasons to stop smoking once and for all. We may realize smoking is not healthy, but it helps to stop and think about these points to wake us up to the severity of what we are actually doing to ourselves.
