Accolate Medicine - Uses & Side Effects

The usual dose for adults and children 12 years of age and over is 20 milligrams and you should take this medicine twice a day.

The usual dose for children 5 to 11 years of age is 10 milligrams twice a day.

Uses of Accolate

*This drug is used to minimize breathing problems that may be caused by exercising or sensitivity to aspirin.
*It is also used to treat other conditions those are listed in the medication guide.

Side Effects of Accolate

Before taken accolate medicine, you should discuss the side effects with your doctor. If any develop or change in intensity, then you should inform your doctor as soon as possible. Because only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Accolate. Side effects may include:

*Astemizole (Hismanal)
*Blood-thinning drugs such as Coumadin
*Carbamazepine (Tegretol)
*Cyclosporine (Sandimmune, Neoral)
*Erythromycin (E.E.S., E-Mycin, others)
*Heart and blood pressure medications called calcium channel blockers, including Calan, Cardizem, and Procardia
*Phenytoin (Dilantin)
*Terfenadine (Seldane)
*Theophylline (Theo-Dur, others)
*Tolbutamide (Orinase)

Overdose

After taken accolate if you feel that overdose is suspected, then you should contact with your doctor immediately. Because it may lead to another serious effect. Symptoms of Accolate overdose may include:

Rash
Upset stomach

Any medication taken in excess can have serious consequences. If you suspect an overdose, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms of Accolate overdose may include:
