Authentic Automatic Backup and Recovery-00-286

Once you have found out data loss is an inevitable end of practically any storage media life cycle, and that it is a matter of a year or two, it is high time to get yourself a nice backup plan. This somewhat boring but paying off in the end procedure usually includes defining what data needs to be backed up, choosing a backup destination, and downloading the appropriate backup software that support automatic file backup. You do not want to be doing this again and again manually.

Make sure the software title you picked has flexible scheduling possibilities for automatic file backup at a specified time and date with repeating auto backups at suitable intervals. This will prevent you from losing the latest changes you've made to your data. There is one trick though with automated backup, that is you may need to do some manual stuff to keep it running, like changing CDs or DVDs, or connecting an external hard drive or thumb disc.

The key to avoid these unnecessary manual work is to set up the right destination for your backups. There're at least two ways of ensuring your backups are running smoothly on their own without any supervision necessary. For this you just tune a backup software for automatic file backups to NAS (network attached storage) disk or to a remote server.

Only this will safeguard your data from any kinds of accidents. Only these backup systems are absolutely automatic. File backups are furnished all by themselves and the stress is gone. One advantage of a remote server backup option over the NAS one is that remote backup is usually a part of online backup service that provides you universal access to your data anywhere, anytime. Handy Backup is one of the relatively new and popular backup tools that you can experiment with for both described backup options to get the true automatic file backup solution.

"Authentic Automatic Backup and Recovery" is an article from the "Automatic Backup Considerations" series written by Novosoft LLC, an international software development company which produces its own automatic file backup software.
