Beginners guide to uploading music to iPod Nano

Okay so you may have got an iPod Nano as a present or you have just treated yourself to one. What is the first thing you do? Read the instructions on uploading music to iPod Nano. Nope you generally leave it in the plastic bag it came in, and then try to wing it yourself. Generally after a couple of hours trying to figure how you go about uploading music to iPod Nano you would admit defeat and search the internet for a simple guide to uploading music to iPod Nano.

Here is when I come in. I've been there myself. I hate manuals and would prefer to read a quick article on uploading music to iPod Nano rather then flick through a huge manual. Uploading music to iPod Nano may seem like a very simple subject to cover but it's the one subject I get asked the most about. So here goes a very simple step by step guide to uploading music to iPod Nano

Step 1

Go to apple.com/itunes/download. And download the latest iTunes software.
Please ignore this step if you already have iTunes on your pc.

Step 2

Start iTunes and connect your iPod to start uploading music to iPod Nano.
Once iTunes has recognised your iPod it will appear in the left hand side as a small iPod logo.

Step 3

Go to the summary tab and make sure that "Manually manage music" is selected. I always to this as I like to control what is on my iPod. If you deselect this then every time you plug you iPod in it will sync to what you have in iTunes and if you have a song on you iPod that isn't in your iTunes library it will remove it from your iPod.

If you already MP3s on your pc that you want uploading to your iPod just simple drag the select MP3's into iTunes and hover them over the logo of your iPod on the left hand side. This should then expand and you should then see a section called Music simple drop the MP3s there. You should then look at the of iTunes in the small oblong display the progress of all the song your uploading, you will then be uploading music to iPod Nano.

Step 4

If you have a cd you wish to upload. Simple place the disk in your pc. It will the appear in iTunes once this has happened click on import CD button. You then will need to follow step 3 again by simple dragging your songs from your iTunes library into your iPod.

And there you go uploading music to iPod Nano can be easy if you know where to look i.e. not your manual!
