Causes of gall bladder disease

We know that the gall bladder is a small organ that is found next to the liver and helps it in digesting fat. The gall bladder deposits the bile which is produced by the liver and releases this substance in the moment when partially digested fats get in the small intestine. That is why the role of the gall bladder is very important.

Responsible for the malfunction of the gall bladder are believed to be the gallstones. These are also responsible for the gall bladder pain. It is known that not only gallstones produce pain but other causes too.

Gall bladder pain is considered to be the most common and intense symptom of the gall bladder disease. Pain often occurs after meals and during night. Gall bladder pain can also intensify with physical effort and sudden moves. A pain attack can even last for a few hours and the main causes for them are the meals rich in fat and the physical effort. Even a late meal can cause problems, leading to pain in night time. These gall bladder disease pain attacks generally occur in the upper region of the abdomen but sometimes they spread to the mid back or under the right shoulder.

Latest medical research shows that the gall bladder pain is not caused only by the blockage with gallstones. Specialists say that the pain symptoms might be for some people the consequence of the intolerance to some foods. Researchers also say that pain attacks can occur as an allergic reaction to foods like eggs, meats with levels of fat, diary products or even citrus fruits. Chocolate, coffee and carbonated soda can cause these pain attacks too. Among the recommended foods that are believed not to be allergenic we have to remember fish, green vegetables and wheat products.
