A chat room in SocialBang is place where you can interact with other people and objects, chat, play games, draw, leave messages, etc. Rooms can be access through the lobby, or you can also search for a room. They can also be accessed through doors found in other rooms. In fact, some rooms can only be accessed through a door

You can move your avatar anywhere in a room by simply clicking on room, and the avatar will walk to the point you clicked. If there are obstacles, e.g. furniture, in your path, the avatar will automatically avoid them.
Click on a seat and your avatar will walk to the object and sit in the seat you clicked.

You chat by typing into chat input field then press Enter to send your chat to the room. Everyone in the room will see your message. People further away from you will see your message smaller.
I want to chat to a user without others seeing our chat you can either select his name from the users drop-down and chat normally. The messages will only be sent to the selected user. Or you can also start a private chat by right-clicking on the user and then click on Private Chat.

To see another part of the room without moving the avatar you can either use the room minimap. Click and drag on the minimap to view some other part of the room. Or if you have a mouse with the middle mouse button (wheel), click and drag using the middle mouse button to pan across the room.

If your avatar is not in the viewport after panning the view, after a couple of seconds, the camera will focus back on your avatar.

You can zoom in or out by clicking on the zoom in/out buttons found below the minimap or if you have a mouse with with a wheel, simply move the wheel up or down.

In some rooms you will find message boards. Anyone can leave a message in the room. To leave a message, right click on the message board and click on Post Text. Type some text and click on OK. A message will be added to the message board together with your profile picture.
