Conveniences of a Balance Transfer For Life Credit Card Package

Among the major successes in credit cards over the last few years has been the 0% balance transfer deal, where clients could arrange not to pay interest on a credit card debt by moving it over to a different credit card that incurred no interest charges for a small time span on balances transferred over to it.

Not alone was this widely well-liked by customers, who were able to avoid paying interest charges on what they owed more or less indefinitely by switching the amount owed from card to card, it became a hotly competitive marketing point for credit card providers who sought to make available longer and longer packages to garner brand new consumers. Regretably, this scenario was doomed to failure - it was plainly costing the card account providers an excessive amount of money in lost interest charges, and so the attractiveness of balance transfer promotions started to be restrained by additions similar to a balance transfer fee, where a flat proportion of the balance transferred onto the card was charged as a handling fee.

Presently, zero per cent transfers are still around, but the diminishing amount of credit card issuers means that it's very hard to find a new provider to transfer the debt to at a zero per cent rate. What else could you do if you still have a hefty debt, and want to pay as little interest as you can? The solution is a life-of-balance transfer offer.

With these packages, rather than paying 0% for a couple of months on your debts, then the total standard APR of the account once the introductory period has ended, you agree to pay a minimal percentage rate of approximately 5% APR that is preset until the debt has been completely paid. Despite the fact that you're still having to pay for interest charges, these deals are far more affordable than standard debt on a credit card, and most often are also more affordable than other sorts of debt along the lines of unsecured loans or bank account borrowing.

Preferably, you'd take the opportunity presented by this lower interest rate to concentrate all your financial firepower on clearing the debt as quick as you can, and you certainly shouldn't buy things with your lifetime balance transfer card if you want to make the most of the low rate on offer.

Accordingly, if you have a hefty credit card balance and would like to begin repaying it in the most cost-effective and affordable way possible, a lifetime balance transfer offer is worthwhile thinking of.
