To the west end of the historic center, you can try out a less scenic park, the Parco della Cascine. It is however, very popular with the joggers. Here you will also find tennis courts and pools apart from a horse racetrack. However, avoid being out here at late nights as it can become a hideout for drug addicts after dark.
