If you can be open-minded about viewing different types of movies, you can find many hours of unexpected entertainment. No, you won�t find free downloads of current blockbusters, but you will find plenty more to keep you interested. Whether you like a good Alfred Hitchcock thriller, a Wes Craven horror blood-bath, or any other genre of movie, you can find a way to view some or all of the movies on the internet.
Do not be fooled by sites that offer free, first-run movies. First-run movies, which are currently playing in theaters, are illegal to download from any site free of charge. There are a number of these sites available, but they operate illegally and you can face legal woes if you knowingly download from their sites. What�s more, copy quality is typically quite bad as they are often recorded under poor circumstances. Many pirated copies are obtained by a movie-goer who sneaks a camcorder into a theater and records the movie from their seat. Needless to say, these are less than ideal circumstances and produce grainy, hard-to-watch films often accompanied by poor sound quality.
They then upload it to the internet to share. Make no mistake about it; if you knowingly download illegal movies, you are breaking the law. The laws to protect stolen or pirated movies are getting stricter. Some who break this law are hit with hefty monetary fines; others actually can do jail time. So, if you don�t want to wait for the hits to come to cable or DVD, you�ll have to get in line at the movie theater and purchase a ticket.

Turner features free downloads of many classics � currently you can download (free) John Wayne�s �McClintock�. This is a really good Western and suitable for viewing by the entire family � and it is free. �McClintock� is only one of many very good, old classics that you can download from Turner.
Apple Movie Trailers is a great site to visit. Here, you can spend hours watching clips, trailers and out-takes from many very famous movies. Some more obscure films are also featured and equally entertaining.
For the most current movies, you might want to consider a site called Vongo.com. Vongo is a very popular site � they offer newer releases of high quality at affordable prices. Vongo is one of the sites (there are others � search the web) which offers a free trial period. At Vongo, the free trial lasts two weeks (fourteen days). During that time period, you can download movies for free. At the end of the trial, you may cancel or renew your membership. Membership at Vongo currently costs $9.99 per month - a pretty good deal as they offer high quality and a large selection to choose from.
A site called CinemaNow.com offers movies for sale, download (at a fee) and for rent. At CinemaNow.com you can rent a full-length movie for $3.99. Currently available for rent on their site: Sweeney Todd, Juno and the Oscar-Winner, No Country for Old Men Rental films are actually made available to the consumer via download to your computer. It is not possible to burn downloaded rental films to a DVD � they have a program which prohibits this.
