That is why people come out of rehab and start using drugs again. That is how they see THEMSELVES. This is the definition of a self fulfilling prophesy.
Your ex broke up with you because they either saw themselves as inconsistent staying with you, or they see you as being inconsistent. If you dig deep enough one of the two will emerge. The only thing you must do is prove to them it will be inconsistent to be without you. Yes this is both manipulative and effective. Don’t worry, they will never know.
