You probably think I'm out of my mind for saying this when the world is suffering from an economic meltdown, when people's incomes are hitting the sewers, and costs are soaring straight through that hole in the ozone layer. But it's worth repeating:
"The Best Time for Travel Planning is Today"
There are plenty of reasons for saying this.. Let's start with one: a philosophical reason.
Have you ever heard people talking about the good old days? The truth is there never were "good old" days. Back in those good old days that people talk about their grandparents would remember the "better, older days."
The point is, if we look back, there were always things that were better once. It would be nice to bring some of those things back, but it's not likely that will ever happen.
So what's this got to do with travel. Well, there have been better times for traveling. Much of what I write about, you just can't do them anymore because conditions have changed. I suspect conditions will keep on changing, and not entirely for the better.
So, there may be better times ahead for traveling - and I hope there will be. But there's no sense waiting for them. Based on historical trends, the best time for travel is right now.
Moral of the story: Don't wait for better days. Start working on your dream right now.
