You may think I'm out of my mind for saying this when the world is dealing with an economic meltdown, when people's salaries are hitting the basement, and prices are zooming straight through the roof. But it's worth repeating:
"The Best Time to Travel is NOW"
There are plenty of reasons for saying this.. Let's start with just one: a philosophical reason.
Why do people talk about the good old days? The truth is the "good ole" days is a myth. Back in those good old days that middle-aged people like to remember their grandparents would talk about the "better, older days."
The point is, if we look behind us, there were always things that were better once. It would be wonderful to bring some of those things back, but it's not likely that will ever happen.
So what's this got to do with travel. Well, there were better times for travelers. A lot of the things I've written about, you just can't do them anymore because conditions have changed. I suspect conditions will continue to change, and not entirely for the better.
So, there may be better times ahead for traveling - and I hope there will be. But don't wait for them. Based on historical trends, the best time for travel is today.
Moral of the story: Don't wait for better days. Start working on your dream now.
