Decorating with Silk Tulips
One of the best loved silk flower varieties is the tulip. Tulips’ classic look and tall, thin stems with long delicate leaves make them readily identifiable. Tulips are a great flower to use for almost any decorative need. For one, tulips are more of a generic flower that can be used regardless of the season, unlike some of their counterparts. Another immensely popular flower, the rose, is one type of flower that has a lot of stereotypical meanings attached, limiting it in ways that the tulip is not limited. Tulips are also great when there is not a lot of space available, as opposed to many silk flower arrangements, plants, or trees, which may require a lot of space to look good. Tulips are wonderful for flower arrangements: they look lovely by themselves, and they add color and charm, without being overbearing, in more diverse arrangements.
Artificial Palm Trees
Often the only tree that comes to people’s minds when they hear “artificial tree” is the Christmas tree. Few would think of the palm tree as a choice in artificial trees. The palm tree not only looks very different from the Christmas tree, it seems to belong to a totally different season and has a very different feel. There are hundreds and hundreds of different styles of palm trees; the same goes with silk palm trees. The most common silk palm tree is a tall, perfect replica of an outdoor palm tree, complete with coconuts if desired. When designing or planning to put a palm tree in your home, it is important to note the circumference of the leaves. Most people are surprised to find out how large the palm trees circumference is, and may have to rearrange the room to provide enough space for it. Smaller palm trees are usually sufficient when decorating inside the home.
Using Artificial Grasses as Decorations
One less well known but interesting and attractive way to decorate your house is to use arrangements with artificial grass. If you plan to have a Western or desert-like element to your house, or to one of the rooms, you might want to consider silk grass arrangements. Much smaller than artificial trees, silk grass decorations are comparable to flower displays. Not only do silk grasses work well on their own, they also make great ornaments for bigger plants and trees. Window ledges and water fountains also look nice with a silk grass arrangement. A benefit to silk grass is that they provide a fresh change from more ordinary flower arrangements. The more you play with different ideas and elements, the easier it will be to find the perfect look for each room in your house.
Winter Décor
Though each season is fun to decorate for, winter decorations seem to hold a special place in everyone’s hearts. Keep in mind as you decorate with plants and other foliage how the changes in weather and temperature will affect them. The most basic elements that exist in winter decor, or winter decorations, are pine trees, firs, branches of trees, or very unique flowers that thrive on a winter environment. Inevitably your winter decorations will involve Christmas colors and elements, including wreaths and garlands. However, if you're planning to use this decor through the winter season, base your decor design on more generic wintry elements that can be added to during the Christmas season.
