Pixel errors in dashboards and instruments of vehicles outfitted with digital instrumentation (CID, DIS, MID, SID, DID) are not only a
frequent cause for aggravation for drivers, but are also dangerous. An instrument panel with pixel errors in the display is difficult
or impossible to read. You could miss out on important messages about the next service or other warnings from the onboard computer. The
result of this lack of information is damage to the car that would have been otherwise avoidable. The loss of pixels is usually just a
matter of time for all instruments with digital displays. Constant vibrations and manufacturing defects are leading to this kind of fault
increasingly often in even the newest vehicles in the leading classes such as BMW, Audi or Mercedes. Most authorized repair shops in
these cases only offer a complete replacement of the speedo, and no repair. So on top of the hassle, you also have the costs for the
expensive, new speedo and the removal/installation. But that doesn’t have to be the case. You do have the option of having your speedo
repaired at much better rates instead. Such repairs should only be done by a specialist, though, otherwise you could run the risk of
serious damage to the speedo and onboard electronics.
Pixel repair by our in-house specialist takes about one hour as a rule, with removal and reinstallation. You can of course remove your
speedo or A/C control panel yourself, and send it in by post for repairs. This prolongs the repair time by only one extra day. That is,
the repaired instrument panel will be returned to you on the same day.
