See Your Digital Music Player In A New Light

Now it's possible to add a versatile flashing light accessory that not only blinks in sync to the music but has a brilliant light beam for safe nighttime visibility when you are shopping, partying or just out for a walk or jog.

In addition, the device-called Blinkit-can be dressed up for each season with interchangeable tinted lens caps of red, green, blue and yellow.

"Blinkit is the sight of music," says William Weibel, CEO of Intuitive Devices, Inc., who designed the device. "Think of it as audio eye candy for your iPod."

An adjustable mirror system lets users direct light forward or to both sides with a high-output beam visible up to several hundred yards away, and its efficient design minimizes iPod battery use.

It can be used along with headphones and can come in handy in a variety of situations. For instance, it can be used to:

• Light a dark path or sidewalk

• Find your way in a dark parking garage

• Spotlight keys in the bottom of a purse or backpack

• Illuminate door locks

• Read a book or map

• Find a seat in a dark theatre.

It could even be used to light up a chimney for that special late-night holiday visitor.

At last count, there were more than 3,000 accessories for the iPod, from the practical to the outlandish. A new one sheds some light on the subject-literally.
