In 2008, one phone-maker is intent on moulding the game of camera-equipped mobile phones. That company is Sony Ericsson, and they plan to dominate not just the universe in top-end camera phones, but low-end ones, too!
Camera phones evolve - the world created by Sony Ericsson
It's quite apt, when you think about it, that Sony Ericsson are the ones at the forefront of the revolution amongst camera-equipped mobile phones. I mean, it was them who started it all, long ago, in 2002. Let's not forget that they were the first phone-maker to unleash a mobile phone that had a camera built in, in the British marketplace. That handset was the Sony Ericsson P800, but it didn't get the mass market penetration Sony Ericsson wanted, as it was an incredibly (for the time) high-end smartphone. However, their most iconic mobile in history was about to hit the market, and that one WOULD have great market penetration. It was the Sony Ericsson T610, and it entirely altered the mobile landscape. There was a phone that stood head and shoulders over the rival mobile phones it was up against. It was compact, it was slim, and customers LOVED it. And, let us remember that the Sony Ericsson T610 also featured a built-in camera, and that it was actually the first phone to hit the wider audience, and make them say, 'Hang on, we really do want cameras in our mobile phones!'
Today, the camera phone world has split, into entry-level devices, and top-end camera-equipped mobile phones; and Sony Ericsson want to rule both!
Sony Ericsson S302 - get snappin'
Say you want a Sony Ericsson camera phone, but not a mega-massive smartphone. If so, then the Sony Ericsson S302, the first phone in their brand new Snapshot series, is absolutely perfect for you. It's a great little mobile phone, with a compact, sleek shell, a gorgeous screen, and a funky little multimedia browser. In addition to that, in spite of this being firmly amongst the ranks of entry-level mobile phones, the Sony Ericsson S302 comes with a great little 2 megapixel camera. Ok, it doesn't come with autofocus, but considering that it's a budget camera phone, it's brilliant!
But that's an entry-level mobile phone... what if you need a handset that has real power? how about if you desire one of Sony Ericsson's Cyber-Shot series...?
Sony Ericsson C905 - the ultimate camera phone?
You just can't deny power, and one thing is for definite: the Sony Ericsson C905 has much more sheer power than all other mobile phones on the market in the UK. And why is that? Simple, this is the first camera phone to be unveiled in the UK that has an 8 megapixel camera. Yup. 8. That's a ludicrously high pixel count, and it means that the Sony Ericsson C905 gives you the power to take the absolute most incredible images you've ever witnessed, from any camera-equipped mobile phone, in the world. Oh, and on top of that, let's not forget that Sony Ericsson have packed it full of Cyber-Shot brilliance, and that will make the photos coming out of it even more beautiful. Add in an amazing multimedia browser, WiFi, HSDPA and built-in GPS, and the end result is that the Sony Ericsson C905 is, without doubt, the top of the heap!
