Ever since the invention of the concept of the teenager in the 1950s, the period of life that Muddy Waters termed 'manish boy,'has had to be negotiated by everyone living in Western societies. It's a time of confusion about the future, lifestyle experimentation, and sexual awakening. There are certain freedoms afforded to the teenager, but there are also pressures from others. In legions ways, a teenager is a blank slate, with no fortune written on them yet and every possibility available to them.
Peer pressure is something that everyone will have to deal with at one time or another. When you are a teenager, it is even more prevalent. Myriads teens have the desire to fit in and be respected by their peer group, and opt to go along with bad choices so they are accepted. Largest teens do not show the maturity to handle peer pressure, so they simply give in to what is being asked of them. Unfortunately, this could determine stealing, drinking, or smoking, to label a petty, every one of of which are terrible for a teenager. Be that as it may, on the opposite spectrum, a teenager who hangs out with a group that excels might be pressured to improve himself or herself to keep up.
Take a look at the broad spectrum of youth cultures that show sprung up since the post-war era; coincident-day tribes that define themselves in opposition to the "square"establishment of teachers, parents, priests, and enormous organization. Teenagers are uncertain about who they are and what they are supposed to be, and so it is natural for them to be drawn to "clubs" they feel they can belong to and thrive in. Although Western cultures preach the worth of individuality, this quickly becomes subsumed into groups of young people all adorning the same, using the same slang, and listening to the same music.
Bullies are cowards, as the bygone adage has it, with internal security problems that they take out on those whom they perceive to be weaker. Bullying is especially a trouble amongst children and teenagers, as they display yet to be properly socialized and individuated as adults. Thus, their moral grasp is immature, and they are less likely to appreciate guilty or ashamed about subjecting others to abuse. Although certain steps may be taken to stamp out bullying, this process is complicated by the fact that similar power relations exist across our societies. One need only turn on the TV or read the newspapers to pinpoint a depiction of a powerful antagonist making life hard for a weaker subordinate.
Puberty is something that all teenagers face, whether they're a boy or a girl. This includes body subjects, changing voices, and even the fashion they interact with the opposite sex. Boys and girls present dissimilar problems, but they also share a slender things in common. Puberty causes teens to behave a different custom. They suddenly begin noticing the opposite sex in a brute custom, but oftentimes don't know how to react to those changes. They also experience changes when it comes to their bodies these as hair growing in new locations, changes in their spontaneity levels, and a change in their vocal cords, either increasing or decreasing.
The teenage years can be highly stressful because of family, friends, and school. Add to the mingle the onset of puberty, peer pressures, bullying, and other issues, and teenagers may appreciate overwhelmed a pleasing portion of the time. It is very important to keep abreast of your teenager's problems and concerns all the time their years, and to try and get them to open up and be honest with anything they need to be. Being there for a teenager can be a lifesaver for myriads in stressful situations.
