On a spit of land in the middle of uninhabited mountain wilderness, the market of Khau Vai love is held once a year, exactly the 27th day of 3rd lunar month. Not offered goods, sellers, or buyers, it is overdue for an appointment in freedom lovers of all ages. Some, for one reason or another, could not marry, come to make confidences. They exchange love songs, songs with their seductive khen (the musical instrument of choice for mountain), reliving all the memories of their youth until nightfall.
On purely sentimental, the market for love is of exceptional significance in the lives of Vietnamese Montagnards. They convey orally from generation to generation, a love story, beautiful but sad.
According to legend, in a mountain village, the young daughter of a wealthy family falls in love with a poor boy. His love is so strong it is compared to that of "between Heaven and Earth," they say. Their social status is not the same, young people are not allowed by their parents in just convoler wedding. Unable to overcome the ancient social custom, they decided to flee to live together in a desert area, deep in the mountains. However, steeped in ancient education that the daughter must keep her virginity until marriage, they sleep separately at night in two huts close to each other. Only the sun is witness to their happiness. Life continues, and the lovers finally reach their old age. Then, the night when they feel out of breath, they kiss and go to bed, calm the soul, on a block of stone to the stars. Track of their romantic adventure continues until today. For locations of huts, subsequent generations have built two temples, that of Mr and the Lady, to venerate an everlasting love.
