Through July 31, 2007, common sense tips from a maternal figure, such as these, can win one lucky person $25,000:
• "Have a plan before you head out the door." On your way to work, are there errands you can run to eliminate errand time during nights and weekends? Keep a small notebook to jot down checklists and errands to make sure you overlook nothing.
• "Anything worth doing is worth doing right." Rushing through a task usually costs you in the long run. Think about soiled dishes fresh from the dishwasher because they weren't rinsed off first. Use Mom's advice and take your time and then admire the results.
• "Don't overschedule yourself." Remember to make time to renew your energy. Whether you read for 10 minutes or take a yoga class, if you're feeling refreshed, you'll procrastinate less.
• "Teach your kids to help around the house." Show children how to empty the dishwasher, do laundry and clean their rooms. An extra set of hands goes a long way. Believe it or not, this can also serve as great quality time with kids.
The winner of the contest gets $25,000. Five semifinalists each receive a year's supply of Scott Tissue and Towels products and $1,000.
