Some of us have the luxury of leaving one job for another if we find that the first job doesn’t offer what we need, especially if it doesn’t offer insurance. We can just pack up our desks and move on to the next job opportunity. However, changing jobs isn’t an option for everyone, especially in today’s job market. Many of us have families to feed and bills to pay, and because of these factors we sometimes have to take what we can get, job-wise. The most obvious solution for lack of insurance is to purchase an individual insurance policy. Albeit, individual policies cost more than the group insurance policy you could get from an employer, and are usually much more than most of us are willing to pay, but having an individual insurance policy is better than having no insurance at all. If you’re involved in a serious accident or contract a serious disease, the hospital costs will undoubtedly be much higher than the premiums you paid for your individual health insurance policy.
If you look at it that way, the means justify the end. Isn’t your health, and your family’s health, worth the extra cost?
