What To Eat To Consume Vitamin E

Have you heard about antioxidants? Antioxidants are primarily functional for fighting and/or preventing diseases and illnesses, such as heart disease and premature aging!

Most people think that antioxidants come in pill or powder form, and this thinking is understandable. Supplement companies pay millions to advertise these as well as the pill form of vitamins A, C, and E. These supplements can be helpful in some cases but really, your nutritional needs can and should be met from your healthy diet, not from pills and powders.

Precisely how do antioxidants work to protect the body the way that they do? The antioxidants mix with such elements, known as free radicals, and then neutralize them. These free radicals are something the body produces naturally through its many functions and processes. The body can commonly take out these elements the way it usually protects itself from harmful elements.

Here are some illustrations of things that can stop the body from protecting itself from these harmful elements, excessive drinking, living in a trashy enviornment, not taking care of your immune system, and your body being revealed to UV rays.

Having a lot of free radicals in the body is not good becuase it hurts the body's organs and systems. It is known by many people that free radicals are the sole of heart diseases and common cancers. These elements also somehow gets the body to age faster than normal!

Believe it or not the food we eat contain 4,000 antioxidants. A significant amount of these elements have been broken down n made into supplement form, that's why these pills won't be an exact substitute for a healthy diet! Foods that contain many antioxidants like fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and items like these contain many vitamins as well as minerals, amino acids, and other elements that are necessary for good health, including those antioxidants that are necessary as well!

Vitamins are also identified as antioxidants. One of the most commonly known for its antioxidant qualities is vitamin C, or ascorbic acid. This vitamin is found in all the tissues of the body but it is not stored in the body itself. Therefore getting enough vitamin C in your daily diet is essential!

If you need to increase your vitamin C consumption, consider citrus fruits. Fruits such as oranges, grapefruits, kiwi fruit, and many others, are considered to be the best. Some other foods that you may be able to obtain vitamin C from would be cabbage, strawberries, pepper, dark green leafy veggies, and potatoes too.

Another popular antioxidant is vitamin E, which is also believed to keep the body from the aging process. It might not completely stop your body from aging but it sure will protect the body from any form of skin damage.

Increasing your vitamin E can be done by obtaining fish oil, vegetable oil, dark leafy vegetables, nuts and all sorts of seeds, and especially whole grain bread.

Another good antioxidant is beta carotene. This too is important for a number of bodily functions and processes. This antioxidant will not let harmful UV rays from the sun affect or even damage the outer layer of a fruit. Many believe that it can do the same for human skin! Beta carotene can also prevent pollution in the near by environment.

To increase beta carotene in your system, consider yellow and orange fruits and vegetables. This would mean carrots of course, but also cantaloupe, peaches, sweet potatoes, squash, and so on. Collard greens, broccoli, and other several dark green leafy veggies are a great source of beta carotene.

And another important antioxidant to consider is selenium. It is known to stop and heal any cell damage. Some also believe it may be used in the fight against certain cancers!

Selenium is good for the body and easily acquired but too much can be dangerous. Try to include some selenium intake in your diet. Foods that sustain selenium would be eggs, fish, whole grains, red meat, and poultry. Fruits and veggies may also be grown in selenium rich soil.
