What to Look for in a Lift Chair

Shopping for a lift chair is no different from shopping for everything else, it's important to shop around, considering what is available in the market, and what you need. But unlike most other products, many of us haven't bought a life chair before so we've put together a list of things to look for in your chair to help you along your way.
The first thing to note is that lift chairs come in a variety of shapes and sizes, each designed for people of different heights and shapes. Therefore it is really important to make sure a Medicare Approved Provider fits your chair for you so that you get a chair that is the perfect shape and size for you. Assessments should involve measurements being taken so that when sat your feet touch the floor without too great a load.
Secondly, it's important that to think about what type of chair you need. Do you need a chair that offers a zero-gravity position to offer better back-relief and circulation? Or will a more limited chair fulfil your needs? This is especially important as the more advanced the chair becomes, the more the cost drives up. To help you decide, consult with your doctor and listen to the chair provider both of whom will offer useful advice.
Third, you've got to remember that the lift chair is a piece of furniture and has to fit both in size and design with your home. So be sure to measure up how much space you have in the room you're going to put the chair so that it fits! Also be sure to note that when the chair reclines it will take a up a lot more space, and you need to be able to place the chair far enough away from the wall so that this isn't a problem.
Fourth, consider how much benefit you can receive from some of the additional features that some chairs offer. This includes things like heating or massage which can definitely be a plus for some people as they offer increased comfort and different ways of offering relief. But as always it is an exercise in weighing up the pros and cons as each of these features adds to the cost of the chair.
Finally, make sure that the dealer you're buying it from offers a good guarantee. Not only does that protect you if anything goes wrong, but it also gives you an indication of the company's reputability. Whilst you might ignore such things normally, the cost of replacing your lift chair should make this a real concern.
So, those are a few points to bear in mind when buying your lift chair, and hopefully they'll guide you to getting a chair that you'll love!

Using a lift chair can make it much easier to stand. Golden Lift Chairs and Pride Lift Chairs are both well known for their quality.
