You Are Cheating Yourself If You Don't Exercise

It is unlikely that anyone of us is not aware of the fact that proper exercise is one of the most important things we each can do for a healthy body and a healthy mind. It has been well proven that it will benefit how we feel physically, mentally and emotionally as well as how we look, feel and how well we function. Proper exercise also contributes to the quality of our life.

The many physical benefits can include weight loss, improved strength and fitness, a decreased risk of disease and an increased quality of life. Vigorous activity is the body's key method of staying healthy and is crucial to mental health and fitness as well. It is not only the outside of your body you need to keep well and healthy; the inside is just as important if not more.

Just as you get more energy exercising you also feel more alive and vibrant, you will feel much happier, your mood will be boosted and you will have a better outlook on life. Feeling down in the dumps is pretty hard to do when you are an active person. A good workout will chase any "stinking thinking" right away.

A no exercise lifestyle can make you feel tired and worn out. When you exercise regularly you feel more alive and energized. Our lifestyles today tend to be busy and stressful and you will find your exercise program is a great way to blow off stress and tension.

Heart rate, blood pressure and cortisol levels, all of which are raised under stress can be decreased leaving you feeling de-stressed and calmer. Cortisol is the "stress hormone" and continued increased levels can lead to health consequences ranging from weight gain to heart disease and diabetes.

Studies show that you will be less likely to suffer from depression that can steal your life away if you are strong and fit. You are active in a productive manner and the brain sends out "feel good" chemicals signaling a happy, cheerful state of mind during and after exercise. Exercise is a more natural effective way to deal with these problems than toxic drugs that further rob you of your vitality.

You may have heard about hormones and how, as we age, our body gradually decreases the amount it makes for us. Around age 30, but it can start sooner, your body produces less and less of the hormones that keep you young, strong, healthy and fit. Once you hit 40, 50 and up, it becomes critical that you exercise and eat right to coerce your body into continuing to product these hormones to keep you young and maintain your health.

Once you start hitting these ages, time is of the essence. You don't want to nor can you afford to 'waste time' with exercises that don't get you results fast. Forget the long, slow, boring type of activities like walking, cycling etc. These are not intense enough to keep you young. They are great for part of an active lifestyle but can never ever replace a proper exercise program to have an anti aging effect.

It is important that you seek the help of a fitness professional to set up your strength training program and teach you how to do it correctly. The right program has the ability to get you 3 times the results in half the time.

As we all get older we start to look for ways to turn back or at least slow down the clock - to feel young and function youthfully regardless of our actual age. Building and maintaining strong muscles is one of the most effective ways to do so. And the formula for strong muscles could not be simpler: strength training for life.
