  • How To Find Cheap Text Books  By : Morgan Hamilton
Do you fit the stereotype of the poor college student? Maybe you are eating ramen and sucking down coffee to stay fed and awake for those late-night study sessions. It’s easy to come out of a four year university with over a hundred grand in debts because college is expensive. In fact, some private college tuitions can reach over $35,000. Of course, tuition doesn’t cover everything because college students still need to pay for things like housing, clothes, food, and books.

If students take part in any extracurricular activities, then their schedules can make it hard for them to work a part-time job while in school. Summer jobs can be low priorities to students looking for solid internships to help out their graduate school or future employment opportunities. Unfortunately, many of these students can be even more strapped for cash because many of the best internships are unpaid.

  • Why You Should Purchase Books Online  By : Morgan Hamilton
Do you love to read books? Well, I do but I have always had this problem with bookstores. My problem is that I can never keep my reading list in my head. I always forget which books I want to buy when I go to a bookstore. I usually remember them later, but by then it is always too late because I will be back at home. This is one of the reasons why I prefer to purchase books online instead of buying them on bookstores.

I have to tell you that you do not know what you're missing out on if you've never purchased books online. For instance, you will save a lot of money when you purchase books online, and you can also find books that you would not be able to find on other places. Many people are scared to purchase online books because they are afraid that their credit card information might be stolen. However, there is nothing to worry about in reality because it is perfectly safe to purchase books online. This is because encryption is so widespread in this day and age that it is very unlikely any personal information will be stolen from online shoppers.
  • Tips And Tricks Found In Acting Books  By : Morgan Hamilton
For the last three years I have been reviewing books on acting for a drama weekly. However, I haven’t yet found a book on acting that compares to real acting experience. Now, I’m not saying that acting books are worthless because they have their place. These books contain an almost encyclopedic discussion of various acting methodologies and approaches. These books also can also provide useful contact information that might take a while to find on your own. Nevertheless, a book on acting cannot take the place of a good acting course.

Acting books can help you to take your first steps into the world of acting. After that, it is all up to you. You can study all of the books on acting that you want, and try out every acting technique known to man on your own, but they are worthless if you can not use them to impress a director. Acting may require a lot of methodology, but the methodology is not the point. Acting is about figuring out what you want to do and finding ways to do it. Some professional actors know so many techniques that they write acting books on their own, but others know very little. Diving into the mind of the character to make him or her come alive is enough for them.
  • A Look At Science Fiction Books  By : Morgan Hamilton
Science fiction books have been my favorite reading since my childhood days. I was introduced to the world of science fiction at the good young age of eight, when I was introduced to a science fiction book club. We children enjoyed good time reading classics like ‘The Time Machine’, ‘Invisible Man’, Journey to the Center of the Earth’, and a whole lot of science fiction books. The experience of reading them was so unique that I cant really forget the story line and characters in space operas like ‘Citizen of the Galaxy’ by Robert A. Heinlein, ‘Ender’s Game’ by Orson Scott Card, etc.

I always liked to anticipate the unpredictable, see the future. It is the epic scope of the science fiction books that attracted me. The books of a specific kind called speculative fiction try to tell today what the world looks like tomorrow. Space opera captured my childhood fantasy and still continues to. Whole galaxies lining up for a war, one party to establish supremacy and the other one defending their ground; there is suspense, thriller, unpredictability, and everything you need to unleash your fantasy. Alien races from a different dimension, prophecies, betrayal, love, honor, etc made science fiction books playing with my emotions for many years now.
  • The Best Books - In My Humble Opinion  By : Morgan Hamilton
If you've ever wanted to dig into a classic book, but don’t know exactly where to go for a list that lists the best of the best books? Ever have someone like a teacher, friend, parent, suggest a novel from their best of lists that they tell horror must reads if you are literary fans.

Well, I can't give you the specifics of all the best of the best books that I cherish, but I can offer you a few ideas of my own, share a few more titles that you may be interested in reading it you are not quite sure what you want to read if you are stuck for ideas or are one who wants to catch up with all the most popular and most-read (besides The Bible, that is) books in all history.
  • Locating Top Book Agents  By : Morgan Hamilton
Finding a competent book agent that will actually work diligently for you to help you reach your goals can be a lot tougher than you may think. Because there are so many different kinds of literary agents out there, it is important to be careful when picking one for your own needs.

The first thing you should do when looking for an agent to represent your work is to familiarize yourself their area of expertise. Not all agents focus on works of fiction, some are only interested in technical books, while on the other side of the coin others enjoy pursuing works of poetry. After finding the ones that fit your field, you now have to locate the agent who has your best interest at heart and not theirs. Many book agents get caught up with their own agenda.
  • A Review Of Book Club Recommendations  By : Morgan Hamilton
You find that you're nowhere near the friends and share your literature tastes. It's been a Stone Age since you've been in school and you don’t have access to a hip librarian or brick-and-mortar bookstore or informative publications like the New York Times Book Review. But it dined the oldest of quality literature. So what do you do?

A really great way to find excellent books to read is to look at book club recommendations. Of course, you might want to nose around a little too get an idea as to which book club profile fits your tastes first, so the following are a few descriptions of the clubs and the kinds of recommendations they put forth, whether direct suggestions or indirect tips:

But there is an enigma surrounding Red that the FBI is unwilling to admit-closely guarded secrets of something gone terribly wrong beneath the skin of Summerville. Secrets that will destroy far more than one sleepy town.
  • Nice Is All The Rage  By : Stacey Moore
Move over, Botox parties, make room for "Nice" parties! A best-selling book, aptly called "The Power of Nice: How to Conquer the Business World with Kindness" is sparking a groundbreaking movement across North America that could make the world a nicer place.

The book, written by New York advertising executives, Linda Kaplan Thaler and Robin Koval, whose agency created the Aflac duck campaign, carries a straight forward message that resonates in both business and in life-play nice. The time-told lesson we learned as pre-schoolers on the playground is striking a nerve with CEOs and PTA presidents alike who want to embrace and spread "the power of nice."

  • Wrong Place, Wrong Time  By : Stacey Moore
New York Times best-seller Andrea Kane is the master of the romance thriller, and readers of her two newest novels, "Wrong Place, Wrong Time" and "Dark Room," will understand why. From the first page, both books captivate readers with their innovative, intricate plots.

In the best-selling "Wrong Place, Wrong Time" (Avon), Sally Montgomery's romantic weekend goes horribly wrong when her companion, Frede-rick Pierson, is murdered and their cabin burned to the ground.

  • The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe  By : Matthew C. Keegan
It has taken me decades – literally – to finally pick up another C.S. Lewis book and read it. In high school I read Lewis’ book, “That Hideous Strength” and completely missed Lewis’ message. One decade later I read Lewis’ “Mere Christianity” and fully understood what Lewis was saying. With The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, part of C.S. Lewis’ Chronicles of Narnia series, the gospel message is clearly made evident in an allegorical/mystical style. Lewis used the Narnia series to explain Christ’s love for humankind to children, who are the series’ principal readers.

This first novel in a series of seven books is currently a major motion picture now completing a successful run on theatre screens across the U.S. I have yet to see the movie, a Disney production, but I understand that it holds very true to Lewis’ storyline. I expect to see the movie before it leaves theatres later this month; it will become available on DVD this April.
  • Condi: The Condoleeza Rice Story  By : Matthew C. Keegan
I had the satisfaction the other day of having finished a book. Yes, you would think that those of us who write for a living would be great readers. Some of us are, some of us aren’t. I probably am fairly well read overall, but that covers magazines, newspapers, articles, and the like for the most part…especially if they can be found online!

My wife picked up a book for me this past Christmas and she hit it right on the mark — Condi: The Condoleeza Rice Story. Written by Antonia Felix, the book traces the remarkable life of now Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice from her days living in highly segregated Birmingham, Alabama during the 1950s and 1960s through her years as an academic scholar, college professor, and university provost, all the way up to her present work with the Bush Administration. Written in 2003, the book still has Condi as National Security Advisor to the president, but in 2004 Condi replaced Colin Powell as the Secretary of State.
  • Grier's Almanac: 200 Years Of Service  By : Matthew C. Keegan
One of my favorite "reads" are almanacs. From the formerly named Information Please almanac to the Old Farmer's Almanac, these handy paperback books contain a wealth of information on virtually any subject, particularly the more generalized tomes such as Information Please.

In November 2005, I visited my locally owned drugstore and found that they had free copies of Grier's Almanac available for customers. Similar in design to the Old Farmer's Almanac, I took a copy home with me.
  • Life Lines  By : Matthew C. Keegan
Joyce Meyers has been inspiring Christians for decades with the pearls of inspirational wisdom which she has faithfully shared via her radio program and books. Now, her husband Dave shares a powerful devotional crafted from a strong, personal walk with the Lord. Let's take a look at the book that will certainly capture the attention of those drawn to Christian devotionals.

Dave Meyers is one of those rare men who works quietly in the shadow of their wife's ministry. Joyce Meyers, who has been inspiring and motivating Christians for decades is a strong inspirational and motivational speaker in her own right. Still, Joyce credits the quiet, strong leadership of her husband in keeping her ministry on track as well as debt free. In reading Life Lines you will fully appreciate the saying, "still waters run deep" and quickly understand that Dave's relationship with his Savior is a strong one.
  • Your Flight Questions Answered  By : Matthew C. Keegan
Whether you are an experienced air traveler or a novice, John Cronin's book, "Your Flight Questions Answered," has a little bit of something for everyone.

Written more as a reference guide, Cronin's book covers the many questions the flying public can have before, during, and after flight. Cronin divides his book into seven sections each containing several questions with detailed answers: flight cancellations and delays, baggage handling, weather, air traffic control, airports, airliners, and pilots. His questions are written in basic form, much like the questions a concerned passenger would ask who is unfamiliar with flying. For example, one question he covers: what are those tiny pieces of metal sticking straight up from the wing? He details his answer with the explanation that they are vortex generators, which create a vortex that prevents air from separating from the wing or other surface area on an aircraft. Cronin breaks down his explanations further with additional details and often includes a supporting picture or graph to visually stress the answer.
  • Atheism In A Post-religious World  By : Sam Vaknin
    Tremblay, Francois - Atheism in a Post-religious World - Suite101, 2004

"If a man would follow, today, the teachings of the Old Testament, he would be a criminal. If he would strictly follow the teachings of the New, he would be insane"
  • Aggression And Violence In Sports  By : Jonathon Hardcastle -
For anyone living in the American society, it does not take a sociologist or a political scientist to call attention to which extend sports has permeated the American way of life. Newspapers devote an entire section of their daily editions to the coverage of sports such as golf , football, soccer, and more. Newsprint about sport surpasses even that given to economy, politics, or any other single topic of interest. Television brings into contemporary households over 1,200 hours of live and taped sporting events every year, sometimes disrupting the usual family life and other times it provides a collective focus to a family's attention.

Whether involved as spectators, participants, or sponsors, sport has been given an ideological foundation through the development of a belief system that outlines the supposed merits of sport. Sociologists support that sports open the door for the formation of amicable relationships between players, communities, racial groups, and even nations. Although sport has emerged as a relatively important element of people's dominant value system and has received unquestionable support from the vast majority over the globe, sports violence has not been accepted as a necessary ingredient of athletic societies. Since it is popularly believed that sports build character and provide outlet for aggressive energy, scholars have studied the implications of sport violence and scientists have come up with a number of theories to explain how human aggression brings violence into the sphere of sports.

  • Rush Limbaugh's See, I Told You So (book Review)  By : Aisha Cristal
Rush Limbaugh's second book, "See, I Told You So" is a great follow up to "The Way Things Ought To Be" and a conservative classic in its own right. And although most the book concerns the initial months of the Clinton Administration and the author's anticipation of administration policies, it's interesting to study his projections of the future and compare them to the actual events in their aftermath.

  • Book Promotion Woes?  By : Write 2 Right
Too many new authors believe that once their book is written the sales will just come pouring in and they will make a bundle. Sadly, this disillusionment is shattered when they receive a royalty check. The honest to goodness truth of the matter is that the writer's work is only started when the book is released. Even the huge author names of today began by peddling their books out of the back of their car. Many big-name authors also began by self-publishing because no one recognized their talent. They did not start off their career with a huge bang. They did not have the money to afford publicists and big marketing firms when they started out and yet they are super successful now. Take heart from their examples.

Here is one booklet that practices what it preaches – the cover is printed on 80% recycled material and the inside pages are printed on 100% recycled paper. I thought the front cover’s image of mom, dad and young girl happily tending to a compost bin near their bountiful garden and lush yard was quite cute.

The first thing that stood out for me about Michael Putegnat’s novel, Laguna, was the author’s excellent writing skills. He has the ability to create a vision in the readers mind and employs a clever use of humor. Attractive hooks at the ending of most chapters kept me unable to resist reading at least the first paragraph or two of the next one.

  • Rain, Rain, What A Pain! - Book Review  By : Write 2 Right
Rain, Rain, What a Pain! is illustrated by the highly accomplished and award-winning artist, Pamela Key. I just could not say enough good things about her work and certainly, the illustrations are the strongest asset of this children’s book. This is work you’d expect to see in an art gallery. Bright detailed textures and backgrounds – some with what looks like real rain drops on the page which gives a feeling of the here and now, or possibly a mystic feeling that the book was created for just that moment. Obviously, I was impressed. However, I felt that the activity pages at the end of the book were not age-appropriate as the simplistic story line appeals more to a very young audience.

The Chaos Cycle by John Kerchack is destined for the best sellers list! I couldn’t put it down and was quite frustrated when my life kept interrupting my reading sessions during the review process of this book. Honestly, my husband would talk to me and I wouldn’t even know it. He even made and served supper and I was scarcely aware of what had happened. I heard some banging of a pot lid being taken out of a drawer and then all of a sudden there was this steaming plate of food in front of me and the amused face of my husband beaming back at me.
