  • Tips For Taking Weekend Breaks In Europe  By : Morgan Hamilton
What are your plans for the weekend? Is a weekend break in Europe in your agenda? A break from the hectic lifestyle is wanted for everyone. No one likes to retreat to the confines of their home. In fact they want to explore the whole world outside their offices. That is true, we are dealing with more than enough of pressure in our offices. We shall just make the most out of our off days. Getting away from the country literally turns to getting away from everything that puts you under pressure. Now weekend breaks in Europe are quite common.

What makes weekend breaks in Europe so common? It is the advancement in technology and opening up of newer aerial routes between US and European destinations that help one plan a short outing to Europe. The charm of Venice, London, Paris, among many others are a passion for people like me for unknown reasons. Some people may also have nostalgic feelings to visit the motherland of their parents. The idea of flying out of the country also is an inspiration for many.

  • Wisconsin Welcomes "the Girls" For Shopping And Spa Vacations  By : Stacey Moore
Men have long been familiar with "guys' getaways" (think bachelor parties) that take them to golf courses, casinos, hunting grounds, fishing spots and other far-flung places. Women, too, are developing their own vacation traditions but with a more luxurious twist; they're opting for spa treatments and weekends away that provide plenty of opportunities to shop. As a result, destination spas, outlet malls and high-end specialty retail stores are cropping up in record numbers. Wisconsin, already a top Midwest vacation destination, is no exception. Just in the last few years, multiple spas and shopping areas have launched in several of the state's most popular travel destinations.

First and foremost, "girls' getaways" are about R&R, and Wisconsin's spas pamper with the best of them. In fact, Sundara Inn & Spa in Wisconsin Dells was recently named one of the top 25 spa resorts in the country by Travel+Leisure magazine. And visitors echo the accolade by calling it the ideal place to relax and reconnect with friends and family. Just a short distance away, Evensong Spa at Heidel House in Green Lake is the state's newcomer to the spa scene. Looking to transcend the stress and hassles of everyday life? Evensong's indoor labyrinth-or path-provides a contemplative tool designed for personal, psychological and spiritual transformation. Another well-known option is Kohler Waters Spa Resort, which boasts a glass-enclosed rooftop deck with whirlpool, fireplace and lounge. Rounding out the list of "musts" in southeastern Wisconsin are Aspira Spa Salon at Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake, The Well Spa at Grand Geneva Resort and Spa in Lake Geneva and The O Spa in western Waukesha County.

  • Australia - A Place I Must Visit Before I Die  By : Gabriel Adams -
I have a few places on my list that I must visit before I die. Most of these places are located next to the ocean and have amazing beaches and ocean wildlife. I love the ocean and I really love surfing as well as swimming with different types of wildlife in the ocean. Another major reason to visit these locations is the truly amazing sites that can be visited which can not be duplicated anywhere else in the world. The places I must visit before I die are Italy, Hawaii, and probably the most important, Australia.

The main reason that I want to vacation in Australia is for the amazing surf that is created there. The Great Barrier Reef creates the best waves in the world for surfing. I have also been very intrigued about Australia ever since I saw the movie Point Break, and Patrick Swayze’s character dies while surfing during the “Fifty Year’s Storm”. I grew up thinking that dieing while surfing would be the best way to die, because you would die while doing something that you love. Not only does the Great Barrier Reef supply outstanding waves, it also is a habitat for an enormous amount of ocean wildlife. I could spend years snorkeling in this area trying to see all of the amazing ocean wildlife that Australia has to offer.

  • The Best Vacantions For Young Golfers  By : Groshan Fabiola (Author)
Golfing is a great thing for people of all ages. Women are now golfing more and more, and it is a good sport to teach your kids. If you are thinking about taking a golf vacation in Myrtle Beach, there are tons of golf lessons available for kids. There are also other activities in the area ensuring that your family will have the time of their lives. There are museums; there is the beach, restaurants, comedy clubs, and other fun events. Golfing in Myrtle Beach is a great way to spend a great golf vacation with your entire family.Junior golfers need to be encouraged both by their parents and by the golf academy or golf pro they take golf lessons from. Its important that golf is shown as an exciting and enjoyable pass time and the rewards of hitting a fantastic drive are as great as scoring a goal on the football pitch, but your kids need to know this.

If you are a parent, it is your first job to make golf accessible to your child. Kids will probably lose interest if they have to sit in a car for 40 minutes before a lesson. There's no excuse for not getting your child to a course or academy, we are all surrounded by golf (you just have to open your eyes a bit). Make sure you find them somewhere local, somewhere you can get them to in a few minutes. If it is somewhere local you'll be more willing to take them for lessons or to play on a regular basis. Remember, though, if taking children to driving ranges or golf courses, try to take them when they are less busy. Trying to learn in front of large crowds, or being pressured by other golfers to "hurry up" can quickly put your child off and you'll have trouble getting them to pick up a club again.

  • Top Family Vacation Destinations For 2007  By : Natalie Aranda
When you are looking for a family vacation destination, it is necessary to consider the children. A family vacation is not going to be enjoyable unless it is enjoyable for them as well. The perfect spot would have activities that appeal to all ages. There are many places that would fit this bill, but there is nothing better to keep children happy on vacation than water. The beach is a place for all ages. The little ones can play in the sand and the teenagers can seek romance while the parents soak up the sun and sip those little drinks with umbrellas. Here is my short list for the top family vacations spots, and they all have plenty of beaches available.

The top of the list has to be Florida. It is not far away and fairly easy to reach from the East coast of the United States. It has beaches up and down both sides of the state. The Orlando area has some of the top children’s attractions anywhere in the world with Disney World, The Epcot Center and Universal Studios. There are an endless number of things to do and places to go in Florida, and they speak English and use American money. There is really no downside to it. The weather is almost always going to be nice, and although you can find luxury enough to suit the most extravagant taste, you can also find economy as well.
  • America's Top Five Nudist Beaches  By : Natalie Aranda
When one thinks of nudist colonies, it is natural to think of nudist beaches as well. Modern swimwear is often so revealing that it seems only a small step to nudity. There are several types of nudist beaches. The first time is a real nudist beach in which clothing is not allowed. This type has waned in popularity in recent years. The opponents of this type of mandatory nudity argued that the movement was all about individual freedom and that meant people would also have the right to keep their clothes on as well as take them off. The more up to the date type of nudist beach is actually a clothing optional beach. A variation of the nudist beach is the topless beach. The topless beach is pretty much a place where women bare their breasts and no other nudity is permitted.

There are a surprising number of nudist beaches spread across the entire United States. Laws vary from state to state, and from town to town. It is a good idea to be aware of local laws when planning a nudist vacation. Some of the nudist resorts are located on or near bodies of water including lakes or rivers. The following list is just one person's opinion of the top five nudist beaches in the United States.

Tuscany is a region in Italy located in the central part of the country along the western coast. The capital of the region is Florence. Tuscany has a long and well deserved reputation as the most beautiful location in all of Italy. This beauty is both man made and natural. The region was the center of the Italian Renaissance. Today, Jamaica is one of most favorite vacation destinations for many travelers. Visitors are fascinated by the rich history, unique culture and comfortable climate. A brief visit to the history of Jamaica is educational whether you plan to visit the Island this year or in the future.

Arawaks Before the Arrival of Columbus
The history of Jamaica started long before the arrival of Columbus in 1494. Jamaica island was inhabited by Arawaks for hundreds of years or even more. They lived a simple life in small community based on fishing, hunting, and small scale cultivation. The arrival of Spanish led by Columbus opened the door of the island to the world, but the economic activities also brought new diseases that destroyed native Arawaks small communities in a few decades. The trace of early Arawaks life, today, can only be seen in a few artifacts-facts displayed at the small museum at White Marl.
  • Old Barney -- A Visit to Barnegat Light, New Jersey  By : Matthew C. Keegan
Barnegat Light, NJ is the home to "Old Barney" a historic lighthouse located at the northern tip of Long Beach Island. Long Beach Island, or "LBI" as the vacationing folks like to say, is a narrow island nearly twenty miles long and six miles at sea off the coast of Ocean County, NJ.

The lighthouse is a destination in and of itself, if lighthouses are something that you like. Like all lighthouses, this one has distinctive markings: the top half is red and the bottom half is white. Built in 1859, the current lighthouse is the second one for that site. The original, constructed in 1824, was in disrepair and sorely in need of being replaced. Thus, the present lighthouse -- fondly called Old Barney -- was constructed.
  • Teterboro, New Jersey: A General Aviation Town  By : Matthew C. Keegan
Tiny Teterboro, New Jersey is situated just south of Hackensack at the edge of the Meadowlands only twelve miles from midtown Manhattan. This Bergen County borough is mostly known for its airport, as the residential properties in the town are few. Indeed, recent census figures put the town’s population at just 18 souls! Meanwhile, business dominates the town and the airport, named for the town, is the chief job generator in the town as well as in surrounding communities.

At just over one square mile, Teterboro certainly is easily missed. Bordered by state highways 46 to the north and 17 to the west, the town would certainly be overlooked unless you failed to notice the regular flow of general aviation traffic entering and leaving the airport. Indeed, Teterboro Airport {TEB} ranks as one of the busiest general aviation airports in the country serving Piper and Cessna owners all the way up to Gulfstream V charter operators.

Situated in the heart of central North Carolina along the border of Wake and Chatham counties, just thirty minutes south of Raleigh, is the North Carolina Railroad Museum / New Hope Valley Railway. Take a trip down the old railroad line with me and experience a little bit of American train history!

Since I was a boy I have been enamored by trains -- steam engines, diesels, bullet trains and even subways. My family feels the same way; we marvel at the sight of a steam locomotive hissing and wheezing its way clackety-clack down the tracks, imagining that we, too, are taking a trip across this great nation of our's.
  • New Bern, Nc: History At Its Finest  By : Matthew C. Keegan
When traveling through the South, certain destinations such as Charleston and Savannah have strong appeal to many as they are rich in history and warmth. In North Carolina, New Bern has a similar appeal and it is just now being "discovered" by visitors as a terrific destination in itself. See why this birthplace of North Carolina holds such a strong interest for visitors.

  • North Carolina's Outer Banks  By : Matthew C. Keegan
Jutting into the Atlantic Ocean, North Carolina's Outer Banks offer visitors plenty of sand, history, and recreational activities. This 100 mile long group of islands welcomed the first European settlers, witnessed mankind's first winged flight, and is often the first place that hurricanes visit as they run up the east coast of the United States. Read on to see what makes the Outer Banks the first rate resort that it is.

As barrier islands, the Outer Banks are exposed to the whims of the Atlantic Ocean. Sand is pulled out and tossed away while the islands make a gradual westward move of approximately one to two feet per year. Indeed, many of the shipwrecks that took place several hundred years ago right off shore would be as much as a mile further out into the Atlantic today if they happened in the same spot.

Try the fudge... YUM! Sit down for a traditional Amish meal served family style. You will share a long table with complete strangers while being waited upon by pretty maidens. • Nj Towns: What's In A Name?  By : Matthew C. Keegan
When you think of "Paramus" do you automatically think, "shopping malls?" If you do, you are not alone. On a recent trip to the west coast, I was asked, "where in New Jersey do you live?" When I mentioned near Paramus, the person nodded her head in recognition. She knew that the town was a shopping mecca on the east coast.

Paramus' origins and even recent history, belie the shopping mecca label. As recently as the 1960s, the borough was dotted with farmland; indeed Paramus is derived from the Lenni Lenape name Perampsus, meaning: "where there is worthwhile or fertile land." Where there was fertile land, maize or corn was grown and wild turkeys were also found in abundance. Thus, the meaning of Paramus . . . "A fertile land where corn was grown attracting wild turkeys". For kicks, go to the Paramus Park Mall and observe the Indian riding the turkey [Route 17 entrance near Macy's]. It looks odd to the visitor, but with your new knowledge of Paramus' name origin, it explains much.

Not every small town in America can live up to a realtor’s dream of providing top notch schools, new housing, well kept streets, and abundant recreational opportunities. • Hackensack, New Jersey: 300 Years Of Modern History  By : Matthew C. Keegan
The county seat for Bergen County, New Jersey is the small, bustling city of Hackensack. Nearly 43,000 people call the 4.6 square mile city their home and, in addition to being a seat of government, it is also an important retailing and business center.

The region of New Jersey that Hackensack occupies today was long the home of the Lenni Lenape native peoples. The Achkinheshcky or Hackensack tribe populated the area and coexisted peacefully with Dutch settlers who arrived in 1639 and established a trading post there. By 1688, the area came under the control of the British who established the town of New Barbadoes. At one point during the Revolutionary War, General Washington had his headquarters in Hackensack and the region was at times the epicenter between battling British and American forces. The name Hackensack meaning -- mouth of water -- was not officially chartered until 1921.
