Curb Your Cravings™ Green Tea Enriched with Hoodia was developed to help consumers expedite the dieting process by combining an extreme thermogenic agent with a heavy hitting appetite suppressant, in a tasty and effective tea based delivery system; which has been used effectively for centuries to deliver herbal extracts for optimal results. We really love it when product developers create products, which are in a tea form, because they are extremely easy to use and enjoy. It is really awesome that this product can be sipped throughout the day, making wrestling with cumbersome pills and capsules unnecessary and obsolete. - Colon Cleanse – Immediate Internal Weight Loss By : Jacques Rudolph

Bob Greene’s Best Life diet is outlined on the website of the same name, which in a comprehensive and extremely consumer friendly manner outlines his diet plan, fitness techniques and contains videos and articles for consumers to review, in order to gain more information about health and fitness. The really interesting thing about Bob Greene is that he has turned his personal quest for good health, into a life long mission to help others achieve weight loss and optimal health; so much so that he even caught Oprah Winfrey’s attention, and she wrote the forward for his book about how to live a healthier life. - Jillian Michaels By : Andy Spooner
Anyone who has ever watched reality TV is more than likely extremely familiar with the fitness expert Jillian Michaels. She’s the tough-as-nails drill sergeant-like trainer who successfully motivates contestants to move past their resistance to effectively lose weight and tone up on the series “The Biggest Loser.” Now she brings her fitness philosophy to a wider audience with this interactive online program, which is like a breath of fresh air in a market inundated with plans that simply rethread old ideas, and in many cases provide only nominal results. - French Women Don’t Get Fat By : Eric Marton
The French Women Don’t Get Fat weight loss program is a customized diet plan that was designed to help change the way you look at food through the use of “using all of the senses”. We could not help but notice that the French defy logic when it comes to having good health. They eat what they want and how they want, but still maintain their vim and vigor and as the title of this plan indicates, they are not a country plagued by obesity. We were so pleased to finally see a weight loss plan developed that takes a different approach to life and provides a diet that is doable for women, who are most often the victims of weight gain. - The Abs Diet By : George
The Abs Diet is a weight loss program created by the Editor-in-Chief of “Men’s Health” magazine David Zinczenco. We believe that he has created a rather innovative and effective plan to help users achieve that flat stomach and “sleek physique” that most of us desire. The really compelling aspect of this plan is that it just requires a commitment of just 6-weeks to create verifiable results, which is a manageable amount of time for most of us. It also provides consumers with an amazing method to do this, which does not include hundreds of belly busting crunches and sit ups that usually don’t work anyway. - Celebrity Fit Club By : Michael Wolf
The television series the Celebrity Fit Club captured not only the rating, but the hearts and imaginations of the American public by getting eight overweight celebrities to go through their weight loss plan on camera. These celebrities were split into two teams which competed against one another for charity. This was not just good TV, it also showed that the diet plan they put these celebrities on really worked, which was an awesome surprise for the celebrities and the public at large. - The South Beach Diet By : Aileen
The South Beach Diet is an extremely fashionable nutrition plan based on many of the same low-carbohydrate principles first popularized by the Atkins diet. However, the diet’s main selling point was its comparative flexibility; followers were allowed to eat some grains and fruit, which are strongly discouraged in Atkins. - Sonoma Diet By : Ben Mandelbaum
The Sonoma Diet was developed by Dr. Connie Guttersen, R.D., and Ph.D., who wrote the book - The Sonoma Diet. The website states that she “has spent her career focusing on the development of flavorful and nutritious approaches to healthy eating and weight reduction”. This diet promises that it uses the “latest and most flavorful version of the health-promoting Mediterranean diet” and that there is no "diet food" in this weight loss system. - Lipo Trim By : Andy Spooner
Lipo Trim, does not contain an active fat burner, and instead takes a different approach. In response to a market dominated with weight loss products, this company as well as many others, markets a slightly different approach. Which we will discuss below. - PermaSlim Hoodia By : Angela
PermaSlim, one of the newer entries into the diet marketplace, is presented by the makers of the 2 Day Slim-Down Diet. The PermaSlim Hoodia company claims you can “get off the diet merry-go-round” once and for all and lose the extra weight for good with their appetite suppressant product. - Miracle Diet Patch By : Anne
There are patches for smoking cessation and birth control, so it was only a matter of time before patches entered the weight loss arena. The newest "patch" technology has allowed the makers of Miracle Diet Patch to market a technique for the continual release of natural herbs into the body. It is designed not come off while showering, bathing or swimming, and has been advertised as the "delivery system of the future". - The Maker's Diet By : Benjamin
According to Jordan Rubin, there may be more secrets locked inside ancient scriptures than previously believed. He learned this lesson as a young man, when he was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, a condition that left him weak, depressed, and in constant pain. He saw dozens of doctors and tried hundreds of treatments, but none of them made any difference. - Ray Sahelian By : Chuck Tover
Ray Sahelian has written health related books and created various dietary supplements. Sahelian has even posted a website where consumers are encouraged to purchase his products. Some of his products focus on sexual enhancement, though, there are other products that are said to address blood clots, joint support, and memory support and even weight management. - NutriSystem® By : Eric Marton
NutriSystem® is a meal based plan in which you purchase the company's diet food, instead of store bought items, to achieve results. If you like the idea of having diet meals delivered to your door, with a bit of preparation on your part, then this plan may be right for you. NutriSystem® can be less expensive than many other food delivery options on the market. - BioTrainer By : George
By now, virtually every dieter knows that the only surefire way to lose weight is to burn more calories than you take in. Although in theory this may sound simple, in practice it can be anything but. Dieters constantly receive mixed messages in the media about which foods to eat and which forms of exercise are most beneficial, making it easy to get confused and drift off track. - Dr. Weil By : Jacob
Eating Well for Optimum Health: The Essential Guide to Food, Diet and Nutrition is a diet book that both criticizes other diet plans that have recently gained popularity and offers a solution for dieters by outlining a diet that the author feels is superior to all others. - Orlistat By : Jacques Rudolph
With obesity rates on the rise, doctors continue to search for life-saving treatments for morbidly obese people. Surgery is one option that has garnered unprecedented attention in the last several years after several celebrities came forward to discuss their experience. However, doctors fear that the public will perceive procedures like gastric bypass as a “quick fix” and fail to recognize the considerable risks they carry. Rather than pushing a patient straight into the operating room, a physician is more likely to prescribe weight loss drugs in order put him or her on the path to a healthier weight, before more serious problems arise. - LeanLife PM™ By : Michael Wolf
LeanLife PM™ is a popular diet product. The product contains Citrus Aurantium (bitter orange), Garcinia Cambogia, Cayenne and Apple pectin. LeanLife PM™ does not contain the active appetite suppressant Hoodia, and instead takes a fat burning specific approach. The product according to the website is endorsed by numerous athletes and celebrities. - Adipex-P By : Ben Mandelbaum
Adipex is the brand name of the weight loss drug Phentermine, which is used as a short-term supplement to diet and exercise in the treatment of obesity. - Appress® By : Keith Lawrence
Appress® is described as “an all-natural, non-hormonal, non-synthetic patent pending formula clinically proven to impact weight loss, help control serum glucose, decrease hunger and increase energy levels. And because Appress is not a drug, you don't need a prescription for it.” - MetaboFire™ By : Martin Boothe
MetaboFire™ describes itself as an advanced all-natural fat burner. Its effectiveness claims to be backed by clinical studies. One is said to be able to burn fat, reduce calorie intake, increase lean muscle, and boost energy levels through the use of MetaboFire™. - The Calorie Restriction Diet By : Niki Lawrence
The Calorie Restriction diet, or the Starvation diet, in many ways, is the simplest and yet the most complex diet ever devised. It is based on the research of Dr. Roy Walford, who discovered that rats that were fed a severely restricted diet lived 50 percent longer than average. In human years, this would place the rats’ age at a staggering 160 years of age. Of course, scientists have been saying for years that those with lower body max indexes were far less likely to have health problems than overweight or obese individuals. - Cortidrene By : Peter Pure
CortiDrene, a product by Wellspring Labs, is a natural product formulated to lower the body’s production of the stress-induced hormone Cortisol. The company states the product ingredients are designed to assist the body’s reaction to stress and boost the overall metabolism. Cortisol is a hormone produced by the adrenal glands that helps regulate blood pressure and cardiovascular function as well as the metabolism and breakdown of proteins, carbohydrates and fats. - AromatherapyDiet By : Robert de Souza
The Aromatherapy Diet™ is advertised as a diet without an actual diet. The theory behind it is that smell can induce feelings of satiety, helping you to eat less. Equating smell to taste, this diet supposedly works by satisfying any hunger cravings through the aromas alone. - Bontril By : Salena
The formula is not one we can readily recommend for immediate and safe weight loss. Scheduling doctors’ appointments can take time and cost hundreds of dollars. We appreciate prescription based options such as Bontril. But, the product may lead some buyers to experience side effects. Bontril is designed to be used under a doctor’s supervision. - Medifast By : Sarah Williams
The Medifast 5 &1 Plan is a meal plan that consists of five small Medifast Meals of choice per day, including oatmeal, bars, shakes and the like. Users also eat one larger meal consisting of 5 ounces of protein and a serving of vegetables. The Plan also has its own condiments and snacks available. Programs may be tailored specifically for men and women, as well as seniors, diabetics and those with lactose intolerance. - Curves By : Aileen
Curves is a gym for women with over 9500 locations worldwide in 42 different countries. Promoting a 30-minute exercise program in less intimidating environment, they are advertised as being the first facility for affordable, one-stop exercise and nutritional information for women. - Hydro Lean By : Martin Boothe
Hydro Lean is a thermogenic blend formulated to increase fat burning and improve lean muscle tissue. According it its manufacturer, Scitec, this Ephedrine-free natural formula is designed to increase metabolism and boost mental energy and well-being. It contains numerous natural ingredients that have been shown to aid weight loss; however, Hydro Lean’s blend may ultimately suffer from too much of a good thing, for it may not include enough of each particular component to be effective. - 6 Week Body Makeover By : Benjamin
We usually like to investigate the companies, who make weight loss supplements and/or create diet plans, in order to verify the integrity of the products. We were very disappointed to find, after much research, that there was no information available about the producer of the 6 Week Body Makeover. This program, according to our research, is a metabolism based program, operating under the theory that we all have different body types, which are in need of different treatments. - BodySMART By : Chuck Tover
Body Smart Solutions Triple Protein Shake, was created by a company named Life Plus International. The self-described company mission is “to bring together and empower people throughout the world with quality products and the opportunity to realize their maximum potential in health, longevity, and lifestyle.” - Body Rx By : Anne
The founder of Body Rx is Dr. A. Scott Connelly, of MET-Rx, one of the country’s more popular supplements. Body Rx is Dr. Connelly’s book, which outlines all of his fitness theories and strategies. An interactive web site is currently in the works, and will eventually host interactive diet and exercise planners. Currently, the site contains downloadable forms to help dieters track their own progress. The plan has earned A-list celebrity endorsements from professional athletes, but unfortunately this does not necessarily prove that this approach will work for everybody. - Zenostim™ By : Ben Mandelbaum
Until fairly recently, Ephedra was widely regarded as the most effective energy booster, metabolism elevator, and weight loss supplement on the market. Following the Ephedra ban in 2004, however, many weight loss supplement manufacturers scrambled to find the next big thing. Liposlim Systems, the makers of Zenostim™, makes the claim that Zenostim™ is more powerful, safer, and as effective as Ephedra. - The pH Miracle By : Eric Marton
In The pH Miracle, the husband-and-wife team of Dr. Robert Young and Shelly Young has created not so much a diet as a cleansing program that is designed to balance body chemistry and lower cholesterol. Dr. Young is a researcher specializing in cellular nutrition, while Shelly is a trained nutritional consultant according to the book. - CitriMax® Plus By : Andy Spooner
Approximately 50 million Americans go on a diet each year and with literally hundreds of different weight loss products on the market, it’s easy to become overwhelmed by the choices. CitriMax® Plus does not contain an active fat burner, and instead takes a different approach. We do like that the product, contains some basic healthy ingredients such as Calcium and Chromium, but as for immediate weight loss, the jury is still out. - MetaboSlim By : Angela
With the number of new ingredients constantly appearing on store shelves and web sites, a supplement with simple and straightforward proprietary blend is sure to hold some appeal. Confidence, Inc., the company that produces MetaboSlim, is part of a growing trend among manufacturers to move toward a more natural approach to weight loss supplements, guaranteeing the freshness, purity and potency of their product. This approach is a welcome change from some of the dangerous synthetics of the past, but this does not mean that all blends are equally effective. - Colvera By : Benjamin
Colvera is described as, “an all natural weight loss system that is designed to help your body process proteins effectively and help you build lean muscle naturally.” “Colvera™ can help you lose weight without strenuous exercise and without giving up your favorite foods. It should be noted that if you exercise a little bit each week and eliminate a few high calorie foods from your diet, you will of course lose even more weight.” The company promises a lot, but does not offer a free trial sample and a bottle sells for $59.95. - Anorex By : George
For those who cannot tolerate stimulants, Anorex offers a stimulant-free blend of metabolism-boosting ingredients. Targeted at the significantly obese, it contains prostaglandin inhibitor that accelerates the destruction of mature fat cells and inhibits the formation of new fat cells. Anorex also incorporates a mineral-based adjunct that may help to decrease excess body fat better than diet and exercise alone. - Diet Fuel By : Jacob
Diet Fuel is a formula that may be beneficial for women working to achieve a reduced body weight and does not include ephedra. In place of this stimulant, the formula now consists of caffeine, which acts as an energy accelerant and neurologically provides the stamina necessary for a powerful workout. Best used as part of a low-fat diet and active lifestyle, this dietary supplement is intended to be taken three-times daily. - Hydroxadrine By : Jacques Rudolph
Hydroxadrine’s major competitor is Hydroxycut, and ANSI its manufacturer seems all too aware of this fact. It goes after both Hydroxycut and Xenadrine by claiming to take all the proven ingredients from the two leading brands and combines them into one complete fat-burning package. - Metabolic Thyrolean By : Keith Lawrence
ProLab’s Metabolic Thyrolean is one of the more unique fat burners currently on the market. It is a non-stimulating, ephedra free formula that containing ingredients that have been shown to maintain healthy cholesterol levels as well as preserve or increase thyroid output. - Green for Life By : Martin Boothe
Before the Boutenko family began their raw food diet, they suffered from potentially serious health problems. Victoria was obese and depressed, and was afflicted with arrhythmia and edema. Her son, Sergei, was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes and prescribed insulin and her daughter, Vanya, struggled with asthma. Together with her husband, Igor, Victoria decided to make a change, and after copious research, she started the family on a raw food diet. To her delight, all of their health problems cleared up. - Lipomax By : Michael Wolf
Lipomax Gel™ is a topical fat loss gel designed to target fat deposits. By singling out one area at a time, it promises the consumer “ripped” muscles on that area in just 1-2 weeks before moving on to a different area. - DEX 975 By : Niki Lawrence
The posted product description for DEX 975 is quite brief, and the same can be said of some of its ingredients. Its formula consists of mainly natural components that are common to many supplements, making this blend seem fairly strong. However this product may not include sufficient levels of certain ingredients to provide a desired combination of effects. In cases like this, consumers should ask themselves which ingredients are most important to them. - DietClicks By : Peter Pure
DietClicks is another plan that uses technology to help people lose weight, although perhaps not in the way you might expect. - Estrin-D™ By : Robert de Souza
Please be advised, we recommend always researching a products ingredient list, however for this product, the ingredients are rarely posted at retailer’s websites. A company's confidence in its product and whether it is right for you should be of utmost importance. We did however, find mention of some of the active ingredients posted on another website. - Extreme Ripped Force By : Salena
Extreme Ripped Force is an ephedra-free performance drink created by American Bodybuilding to be used to boost an extreme work out for an extreme athlete. American Bodybuilding (ABB) has been manufacturing Performance Beverages since 1985. - Animal Cuts By : Sarah Williams
Animal Cuts is a “cutting” supplement designed to produce professional results for bodybuilding competitions. Leading fat burners at one time depended on ephedrine, caffeine, and possibly an aspirin-derivative, but research has since revealed this combination to be potentially ineffective or even unsafe for long-term use. For this reason, Animal Cuts focuses on a combination of thermogenesis, diuretics, thyroid stimulants, and even mood enhancing herbs to enhance performance and appearance. - Blaze Xtreme By : Aileen
S.A.N. Nutrition claims that Blaze Xtreme is its direct response to the removal of ephedrine from the marketplace. In recent years, supplement companies have been under more pressure than ever to come up with the Next Big Thing. SAN claims to have found it with a lineup of “All-Star MVPs.” While Blaze Xtreme does have a nice, diverse blend of ingredients, there are still some somewhat puzzling omissions. - Reset By : Andy Spooner
For the last several years carbohydrates have been targeted as the enemy when it comes to weight loss, developing lean muscle, and reducing body fat. RESET is advertised to be a 5-day high fiber cleanser that can help you overcome cravings for carbohydrates. This allegedly allows you to start losing weight. - The Take-Control Diet By : Angela
There is any number of reasons to remember Dr. Ian K. Smith. Perhaps first and foremost, his youth and good looks immediately set him apart from the older, often grey-bearded faces of other author/physicians that usually grace the cover of health books. Second of all, he makes frequent television appearances as the medical correspondent for programs such as the “Today” show and “The View.” Most recently, he has appeared on the panel of judges on VH1’s popular series, “Celebrity Fit Club.” - Anne Collins Diet By : Anne
Anne Collins, a nutritionist and weight loss specialist who claims to have 23 years of experience provides a straightforward approach in marketing her weight loss program. “No gimmicks” and “no false promises” are two of the mottos, while promising “personal support.” - BioSculpt By : Ben Mandelbaum
BioSculpt is a liquid supplement that promises to burn calories while you sleep. Users are advised to take an ounce or two before bed, and again in the morning. In reality, it probably doesn’t matter when you take it, but the thought of snoozing fat away is certainly appealing. Still, the real appeal for some may be that this product does not contain stimulants, and therefore does not carry the possible side effect of insomnia. But with an increasing number of stimulant-free supplements available, BioSculpt may not measure up in the long run. - 7-Keto By : Benjamin
Not long ago, Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) was believed to be the answer to the problems caused by the aging process. It had the potential to increase bone and muscle density, and improve memory, among other things. However, it was also shown to increase the levels of the sex hormones testosterone and estrogen, which posed possible dangers. With the introduction of the DHEA derivative 7-Keto, many products are once again touting anti-aging and now weight loss benefits. - Zantrex-3 By : Chuck Tover
In a market full of choices, we cannot recommend Zantrex-3 as the superior choice. - Aprinol By : Eric Marton
Aprinol is particularly designed to address Upper Body Adiposity — the "apple-shaped" condition characterized by the accumulation of unwanted, embarrassing fat in the center and upper parts of the body, primarily in the abdominal area, waist, upper arms, chest, and back. In spite of its specifically targeted approach, Aprinol contains very widely-used, standard weight loss ingredients. - Take Off By : George
Take off is a supplement designed to maximize thermogenic fat burning while improving concentration, physical performance, and boosting energy. This diet pill creates an immediate boost of energy that claims to fuel physical activity and motivation for weight loss, without the addition of ephedra. The creation of Take Off lends itself to be most attractive to serious, active people. - Luprinol By : Jacob
With Luprinol, supplement giant Klein-Becker offered a product “clinically” prepared to target lower body obesity in women who unlike men accumulate fat on the thighs, hips and butt. This condition is often referred to as Lower Body Adiposity the “pear-shaped” condition. As most women who suffer LBA know, unlike simple obesity, LBA is difficult to manage and virtually immune from conventional weight control strategies and ordinary “diet aids.” - Body of Confidence Lipo Formula By : Jacques Rudolph
Body of Confidence promises not only to improve overall skin tone, but also to liquefy excess fat and help users shed pounds. The system consists of one bar of Cleansing soap, Reduction Gel, Reaffirming Gel, and Body Lotion. Although many creams address specific areas such as the thighs or stomach, Body of Confidence must be used all over the body, to the front and back of the body from the middle of the chest down to the thighs, and even upper arms if desired. - Accuslim™ By : Keith Lawrence
Accuslim™ is one of the better products we have come across. The products website claims it was “designed to get even the most stubborn metabolisms moving, the ACCUSLIM™ Advanced Fat Burner contains some of the most well-known and most-effective—but hardly used— weight loss nutrients available today. WHAT IT DOES NOT CONTAIN IS EPHEDRA, one of the most widely used nutrients in diet-pills to date! Our Research team worked diligently in developing just the right formula to meet your high safety and effectiveness standards.” We were surprised to find that the product did not contain the proven appetite suppressant Hoodia. - Thermonex EF By : Martin Boothe
Thermonex EF is advertised as a, “new fat loss technology that was designed to induce superior fat loss and energy enhancing benefits compared to products which contain ephedra. Because Thermonex is ephedra free we have also been able to eliminate unwanted side effects like: the jitters, the uneasy or anxious feelings, the irritability, the notorious ephedra crash, and the feelings of an over accelerated heart rate and shortness of breath.” We are pleased to find the product does not contain Ephedra, but does contain various forms of caffeine. - Cambridge By : Michael Wolf
The Cambridge diet of today is rooted in the original work of Alan Howard, PhD and his colleagues at Cambridge University. In the 1970’s, they tried to developed a new diet which would be low in calories, nutritionally balanced and promote fat loss. - CabbageSoupDiet By : Niki Lawrence
The Cabbage Soup Diet is the brain child of: No one. That’s right no one wants to take credit for developing this cabbage based weight loss program, which we found to be profoundly odd and disconcerting. - Block and Bind By : Peter Pure
Rather than a fat burner, Block & Bind defines itself as a fat blocker, meaning that it binds to carbohydrates and fats and prevents them from being absorbed into the body. Fat is then eliminated from the body, while excess carbohydrates are converted into energy. - Chroma Slim By : Robert de Souza
As its name might suggest, Chroma Slim is one of a growing number of weight loss supplements that make use of the mineral chromium. Since ephedra was taken off the market several years ago, many manufacturers have been searching for the Next Big Thing, and some tout chromium as just that. - Citrin Plus By : Salena
Da Vinci Laboratories is a manufacturer of natural supplements located in Vermont that supports health research institutions across the country. Unlike other manufacturers of nutritional products, which appear online one day only to disappear the next, Da Vinci has been doing business since 1973. - Accelis By : Sarah Williams
Accelis™ is advertised as an easier to use way to lose weight fast. Specifically it says that it can help you lose 10.65 pounds safe by using this stimulant free weight loss supplement. The 10.65 pounds is referring to an 8 week study in which subjects lost this amount of weight using the supplement combined with a calorie controlled diet and moderate exercise. This equals roughly 1.3 pounds per week, which most would not consider that “fast”. - Understanding Nutrition By : Aileen
With the proliferation of fad diets in recent years, it can be difficult to determine which foods are the most nutritious and which to avoid. In fact, it can seem as though every few month’s conventional wisdom is turned on its head, with the foods we were once warned to avoid being touted as the secret to lasting weight loss. Of course, there is no clearer example of this ambivalence than the low carb vs. low fat debate. - Cortislim™ By : Andy Spooner
Cortislim™ is a popular diet product. The formulation has been featured on numerous late night infomercials. It contains Citrus Aurantium (bitter orange), Magnolia Bark, Vitamin C and additional ingredients. Cortislim™ is not specifically geared toward either gender of dieter. - Firelean By : Angela
The product Firelean, was formulated by one of China’s biggest biotech companies. More and more products and concepts are being imported from China. However, as new as these products may seem, many of the ingredients are commonly found in current formulations. - Hoodia Miracle Diet By : Anne
The ingredient Hoodia has recently become popularized as it has been mentioned on various television programs. The ingredient through research is showing to be more and more promising for true appetite suppression. Hoodia Miracle Diet, does not contain an active fat burner, and instead takes a singular approach by design, as it only contains Hoodia. - Formigen® By : Ben Mandelbaum
Formigen® is advertised as a cortisol reduction product and bills itself as second generation product, as the first rounds of these types of formulations were notoriously unsuccessful in weight management. Formigen® is one of many products on the market that does not disclose all of its actual ingredients. It is not acceptable to hide active ingredients behind a term such as “a proprietary blend”. - Calotren By : Benjamin
Calotren is described as, “an all-natural Protein Formula working as a nutritional supplement that assists the body in shedding excess body fat and toxins naturally. CALOTREN does not stimulate, starve or trick your body into weight loss. It simply supports the body's lean muscle tissue and fuels the body's natural mechanism in burning off excess fats and sugars more efficiently. For those who are underweight or in good physical condition, CALOTREN encourages stamina and energy.” The company promises a lot, but does not offer a free trial sample and a bottle sells for $49.95. - Ultima:Patch™ By : Chuck Tover
In response to a market dominated by tablet based products, Ultima:Patch™ takes a different approach. - Relacore By : Eric Marton
Relacore™ has recently been advertised on a few late night commercials. We were excited to review the product and found Relacore™ to be a very average and somewhat incomplete product. The concept of stress reduction, which in turn could help reduce weight gain, is an interesting concept, albeit not one we believe to be grounded in fact. - Thermogen II By : George
Thermogen II is another example of a product that has popped up with the recent lift on the banned ingredient Ephdera. Thermogen II is similar to other products we have reviewed and contains not only Ephedra, but Guarana which is a form of caffeine. The legislation, safety and research of these newly released products, which usually do not contain natural appetite suppressants, are on going. - Ripped Fuel Extreme By : Jacob
Ripped Fuel is back on the market in a reformulated package. Previously the product contained Ephedra. Ripped Fuel Extreme can be found in discount stores all around the country and is easy to come by. Unfortunately the company alone sells many additional weight loss supplements in their battle in weight management and choosing the right product for your needs, can be confusing. Ripped Fuel Extreme is a product in a long line of many that does not include a patented fat burning ingredient. We will take a look if the new formulation lives up to the famous name. - Tonalin® CLA By : Jacques Rudolph
Tonalin® CLA is simply a brand name of Conjugated Linoleic Acid. This dietary ingredient takes a decidedly different approach from other products. The primary ingredient, Conjugated Linoleic Acid, also known as CLA, is comprised of fatty acids that are mostly components of animal foods and often found in milk fat, dairy foods and meats derived from ruminant animals and sometimes from safflower oils. The effectiveness of these new products, which usually do not contain fat burners, is on going. - 2-Day Slim Down By : Keith Lawrence
Momentum 2-Day Slim Down is designed to kick-start weight loss with almost immediate results. Mixed with four ounces of water, the product replaces all meals for two days. Users are also instructed to drink eight glasses of water per day to facilitate cleansing, and may consume sugar-free gelatin if the liquid regimen proves challenging. - Alka Slim By : Martin Boothe
Developed by Dr. M. T. Morter Jr., Alka Slim is part of Mortar Health System’s nutrition program based on acid/alkaline balance. It is dietary supplement that functions as a meal replacement, and may be purchased either as part of a weight management package or individually. - Actipril By : Michael Wolf
Actipril’s approach is somewhat unique in that it does not focus on weight loss, but rather on simply increasing energy. While some consumers may find this appealing and refreshing, the product itself actually contains a blend of fairly standard ingredients. - CLA Extreme By : Niki Lawrence
CLA Extreme is a supplement that offers metabolic diet support by using a derivative of linoleic acid to promote fat loss and build lean muscle mass. Research has shown this fatty acid found in red meat and cheese to have strong anti-cancer properties, more so than other fatty acids. What makes CLA especially unique is that even low concentrations significantly inhibit cancer cell growth. CLA supplementation has been shown to improve the lean mass to body fat ratio, decreasing fat deposition, especially on the abdomen, and enhancing muscle growth. - Cortisol By : Peter Pure
Numerous product names are on the market with the prefix “Corti” advertised as “cortisol blockers;” this means they aim to control fat production caused by unchecked cortisol levels. Most cortisol blocker products claim to be designed to target abdominal fat; some have even claim that this fat accumulation is “not your fault.” - Nite Trim By : Robert de Souza
The idea of losing weight during sleep is almost literally a dream for most dieters. However, Nite Trim is a nutritional supplement that promises just that. Using the wildly popular appetite suppressant Hoodia combined with anti-oxidants, this stimulant-free blend was originally formulated as a wellness detoxifier and an all-natural solution for diabetes and arthritis to improve circulation and digestion. - Trimlife By : Salena
Trimlife offers a 90-Day program designed to support, motivate and educate customers on how the body oxidizes fat while taking Trimlife Advanced. In addition, the program also includes a complete individualized food and exercise program, which is delivered by email daily. The web site offers access to recipes and diet tips, as well as a weekly newsletter for members. - Trimspa X32 By : Sarah Williams
Trimspa’s ad campaign was almost impossible to miss, especially with the scandals constantly swirling around its spokesperson. Perhaps even more astonishing were the before and after photos featured in print and television advertisements of users who had gone from obese to fitness model shape in a matter of weeks. - The Zone Diet By : Aileen
The Zone Diet first became popular as the celebrity diet of choice. While more well-heeled customers may have meals delivered to their door, the diet’s creator, Dr. Barry Spears quickly expanded his brand into books and an online weight loss program. According to Dr. Spears, the Zone is a place where dieters find themselves "feeling alert, refreshed, and full of energy." He also contends that the diet fights encroaching heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes. Another much-touted advantage is better athletic performance. - Stacker 2 By : Andy Spooner
Stacker 2 bills itself as “The World’s Strongest Fat Burner,” but a quick look at its ingredient lists casts a bit of doubt on this claim. While it is good news that this popular product no longer contains ephedra, like many supplements that at one time relied on the now-banned substance to deliver results, it hasn’t done much to re-imagine its formula. This is a shame, since there are now several very effective and natural thermogenic ingredients available to take Ma Huang’s place. However, Stacker 2 has not taken advantage of these, and still contains virtually the same basic elements. - Apple Cider Vinegar Diet By : Angela
The “Original” Apple Cider Vinegar Diet for Weight Loss, as these tablets are marketed, claims to help boost the metabolism, rid the body of excess fluids, and suppress the appetite. These tablets are advertised as being as effective as the vinegar itself without the “awful taste and smell” associated with the primary ingredient. - Beta 3 By : Anne
Beta 3 is one of a generation of weight loss supplements that uses Octopamine as its active ingredient. This compound takes its name from the word octopus, since it was first found in the salivary glands of the eight-legged sea creature. - Beta-Slim By : Ben Mandelbaum
Bio Globe Laboratories, the manufacturer of Beta-Slim, claim that their product could help some users lose up to 100 pounds without any changes to their diet and without exercise. A bold statement like this alone is enough to raise and eyebrow, but what is even more concerning about Beta-Slim is its vagueness. - Chitosan By : Benjamin
Chitosan has been popping in weight loss supplements with increasing frequency over the last several years, and this trend has been met with widely varied responses. Some hail it as the next “miracle” ingredient, allowing users to eat fat while still losing weight, and even helping to maintain healthy cholesterol levels. - ChromoNexin By : Chuck Tover
Chromium supplements are receiving a lot of attention for their potential to speed weight loss and even help to maintain healthy cholesterol levels. The ingredient is often included in proprietary blends along with other thermogenic agents, but ChromoNexin takes a more pared back approach by simply combining two of the most common forms. - Clenbutical By : Eric Marton
With Clenbutical, Nurtibolics claims to have created a truly cutting-edge weight loss product. They cite “independent studies” as providing positive proof of this supplement’s effectiveness, but unfortunately the specific details of the study are not posted. A quick glance at Clenbutical reveals that it does include some nice fat burning ingredients that are reliably used in a variety of other weight loss aids. But whether this product actually excels beyond all others is somewhat doubtful. - Nutrisystem for Men By : George
Nutrisystem for Men is a weight loss program designed by the company Nutrisystem, which also offers a plan for women. This plan involves replacing every snack and meal for a Nutrisystem prepared meal. The company bases their program on the “Glycemic Index” which differentiates between “good” carbs and “bad” carbs. - EstroThin By : Jacob
By simply mentioning a particular condition such as Menopause, companies more and more it seems, believe that they can sell a particular product alone. EstroThin is one of many products that is marketed exclusively to women. EstroThin is supposedly for women, but the ingredients are decidedly universal.
