  • A Brief Guide To Organ Donation
Many of us are willing to donate our organs to victims who are ready to say hello to death. This generous act of kindness leaves us feeling good that we have helped a stranger, or that we were able to lend a hand in creating a new path for their future. Aside from normal organ donation, we also have the opportunity to donate our bodies to science. Thousands of people each year sign up for body donation, thus allowing medical professionals to advance in developing new medicines and curing diseases.

For those who don’t know, organ donation can come in many forms. There are often common donations such as kidneys and livers. However, hearts, lungs, and other serious organs can also be donated for a number of reasons. For instance, if your loved one needed a kidney and you were a perfect match, you could give up yours so he could survive. It is a wonderful way to save someone’s life, even if that isn’t your main reason for doing it. On the other hand, there are also opportunities to donate your heart and lungs to science. Whole body donation helps medical scientists and doctors analyze the causes of diseases and shield lights on methods for conquering them.
  • Organ Transplants 101
Imagine you just got into a car accident. You’re bleeding profusely, you are in dire need of medical attention, and you may just need an organ transplant. With so many odds against you, it can be terrifying to think that your life is in someone else’s hands. We never tend to realize how crucial these decisions are until we are put into that situation. Far too often we hesitate when becoming an organ donor ourselves, forgetting too quickly that we may need help just like everyone else.

Organ transplants are a common procedure in medicine today, and surprisingly, many of the donors are still alive. It is a frequent myth that you have to be deceased in order to give your organs to someone who is on death’s door step. Fortunately, if you can survive without a specific organ, you can still participate in helping others. Many times family members or partners will try to become a match for their loved one who is need of an organ. Other times generous and warm hearted people will be willing to give a kidney or a similar organ to a stranger who they don’t even know. All of these are certainly acts of kindness, and happen frequently in the world.
  • Organ Donation: The Myths, Facts, And Controversy
There are something like 92,000 people waiting for organ transplants, and the number of organ donations does not equal that total. Although an average of 74 people per day receive lifesaving transplants, another 19 per day die waiting. Yet the whole issue is clouded with myths and controversy.

Among the many myths of organ donation is the idea that many people in comas are allowed to die to harvest their organs. There is a major difference between brain dead and comatose, and no person in a mere coma will be allowed to die for body donation. It is another myth that doctors treating patients are sometimes influenced by the prospect of another patient in need of a transplant. The truth is that medical treatment teams and transplant teams are always different, and the medical team will fight to save life regardless of the organ donation status of the patient.
  • Medical Applications Of Liquid Oxygen
Liquid oxygen, or LOX, is the liquid form of oxygen gas. The liquid form of oxygen is extremely volatile and has had a variety of industrial applications. It is obtained from the gas form of oxygen in the air by a process called fractional distillation. It is moderately cryogenic and makes objects it comes into contact with very brittle. It is also a very strong oxidizing agent and was used to support the rapid burning of fuels in rockets and aircraft. It also has some medical applications.

The medical applications of liquid oxygen come from the fact that oxygen is vital to the human body for respiration. The oxygen is transferred to blood cells inside the lungs and taken to every part of the human body where it is used at a cellular level. This basic oxygen transfer process known as respiration or breathing is a life necessity. Without oxygen, a person will die within a short period of time.
  • A Brief History Of Nursing Education
When people think of the history of nursing education many immediately think of Florence Nightingale. However, nursing goes back even further than that. In fact, during the 18th century a slave named James Derham was able to buy his own freedom from the money he earned as a nurse. Nobody knew back then that a nursing education could be obtained in any other way than simply hands on through an apprenticeship. But, today there are many ways to study and learn more about nursing. Great examples of these are online nursing education and nursing continuing education.

But, it took a long time for these nursing programs to develop. And, they are descendents of the first nursing program that was established in the 1850s in London. Japan’s first nursing institute was established in 1885 and the first nursing institute for blacks in the United States followed the next year. The field of nursing was growing rapidly with the influences of individuals like Florence Nightingale and Claray Barton who established the Red Cross.
  • Effective Business Card Design For Health Care Professionals
Since the health care industry is considered to be people-oriented, health care professionals should try to look very friendly and approachable. If you belong to this industry, you would understand the need for such behavior. Most of the people who need health assistance are in some degree of discomfort and would require you to be very understanding and supportive. Health care professionals should also try to communicate in a soothing voice and at the same time behave accordingly.

Aside from these, you must give importance to your accessibility especially in emergency situations. If you are a doctor, a business card would provide your patients information about how to reach you. Because of the importance of this information, you should consider getting a business card with an effective design. A business card design for people in the health care industry can only be effective if you seriously consider two things: content and presentation.
