  • Cedar Village – Apartments Of Choice
There are rumors and opinions that the Las Vegas real estate market is heading for a crash. I beg to differ. I agree that the rise in rates has not been as high lately as it was in the dizzy days of the past two years, but that is because certain projects were overpriced and if there is a drop, it is only making the prices more realistic. Investors in Las Vegas properties will still make a decent profit because the number of people coming to Las Vegas is only increasing everyday. Las Vegas real estate investors should expect a lower rate of appreciation compared to the last two years.

Nevada has shown the fastest population growth in the nation for the past eighteen years and in 2005, about 7,200 people moved here every month making that almost 86,500 in just one year. The number of tourists in 2005 touched a staggering 40 million.
  • Sell Your Home Faster, And At Your Asking Price, By Boosting Its Curb Appeal
Most homeowners are quite clear about the importance of making their home’s interior appealing when trying to sell it. But when faced with selling in a buyer’s market – when homes are selling more slowly – the details of your home’s interior and exterior become more important to attracting potential buyers. If you want to increase the number of buyers who visit your open house or inquire about a showing, take the time to boost your home’s curb appeal.

Curb appeal refers to the exterior attractiveness of your home, the way that your potential buyer sees your home when he first drives past. Curb appeal is the potential homebuyer’s first introduction to your home – a charming and well-kept house helps draw the buyer in. As always, there are key factors that you must keep in mind as you make decisions about which exterior improvements you want to make.

Your home beautiful is just around the corner. You've selected your architect and your general contractor, and soon tradespeople will be appearing at your doorstep to put in those much-needed renovations. Now, it's about speaking their language so you can answer questions intelligently and get the results you want.

One key area that takes special crafting is your stairway. You can keep an eye on how things are progressing if you know the basics of stairway construction.

  • How To Make Your Stairs Get Stares
A dramatic staircase can be the focal point of a home’s interior. Remember Scarlett O’Hara’s sweeping entrances down the central stairway at Tara, in Gone with the Wind? Even 60s sit-com The Brady Bunch had a stairway that saw a lot of action. But some of the most endearing moments have surrounded the newel post. Who can forget George Bailey’s daily encounters with the newel post knob in It’s a Wonderful Life?

The newel posts are the taller posts on a stairway at the head, at the foot, or when the stair changes directions. In a spiral staircase, it’s the central post or column around which the steps wind, providing support for the entire staircase. Although structurally important, this does not begin to convey the dynamic possibilities for design and style inherent in these stairway focal points.
  • Confined Space Rescue—not A “do It Yourself” Job
When a worker in confined spaces is injured or trapped on the job, the last thing anyone would want is for the rescuers to be hurt as well. Yet, without the right training or specialized confined space equipment, the most well-intentioned hero could unfortunately make matters worse.

    What is a confined space?
  • Confined Spaces: A Good Time To Vent
A lot of us strive to avoid "venting" when we're angry or frustrated. However, there's one time when it's essential to vent, in the original meaning of the word. When you're approaching a confined space, always make sure the atmosphere is properly vented with specialized ventilation equipment (such as a RamFan) before entering.
    Dangers in the air

Elements in the atmosphere that can harm you are not always detectable without special equipment, such as gas detectors. Carbon monoxide has no odor or color. Too much carbon monoxide in the air prevents your lungs from being able to take in oxygen. Carbon monoxide is also a combustible gas that gets into the air when machines do not completely burn gas, oil and other fossil fuels. Hydrogen sulfide has no color, but does have a strong "rotten egg" odor at low concentrations, and deadens your sense of smell at higher levels. It is also flammable and is created by the decay of organic matter that is found in sewers and sewage treatment plants. Methane has no color or odor, in addition to causing explosions. As these and any number of other gases build up, breathable air is displaced, which can lead to suffocation.
